I voted Morris player of the season - thought he was immense and can’t believe he missed out on the USA squad - absolute joke of a decision.
I also can definitely see an EPL club coming in for him in the summer, which would be a disaster for us and can’t believe anybody on here saying he isn’t Premier League quality!

I think he’s a lower PL squad player.
He has massive lungs and heart which is why he’s so very popular.
Hackney we will miss massively. Replacing him will be nigh on impossible with our budget and huge needs further forward.
I hope Morris stays and am certain he will still be here.
 
Aidan Morris showed on Saturday that he can run around for 100+ mins in 30 degree heat. They're mad not to at least have him as an option feom the bench.

Hopefully he works on his shooting over the summer and turns into a yank Roy Keane.
 
Morris has been superb this season, never say die attitude and seems to have been improved by the coaching, his ball retention under pressure is exceptional at this level. His awareness and anticipation is top class, work rate phenomenal, physically powerful.

3 at the back with Morris just doesn't work though. That's not his fault, it's tactical. When we are playing 4 at the back next season with wingers with real pace he'll look even better.

Big hopes for next season. A goal or two, captains armband and a two footer from 20 ft away on Harwood-🔔🔚 would go down well in this household.

I think most of us think it's mad that you can rave about a midfielder who didn't score one goal, and is credited with 3 assists in 43 games. If you wonder why he's not in the US World Cup squad, those numbers tell the story.

He took 3/5 of the top miles covered by every single champo player, for all games, which is nuts on its own. Not only that, he was 90th percentile for progressive carries, which is unheard of for a 6. Best pass completion of any player in the league who played a lot.

Best of all he cares and is not a d*ck, Captain next year unless a another team takes him, which is a massive possibility, more than most realise.

I was curious so I looked at those miles covered for Prem players. He is still right at the top. I'll eat my hat if a Prem club dont want him. I desperately want him to stay, he is a fantastic guy and a great player that we need to be building around. If he goes, we really are back to the drawing board.

Makelele scored less than 20 goals in over 600 league appearances, not a single one for France, Yet was still regarded as one of the best midfielders of his generation. Now I’m not comparing the two as such but goals don’t always tell the true story either.

Only by some Boro fans. I know sitting midfielders aren't going to be prolific scorers but they should score a few each season. Having non scoring midfielders just transfers the onus onto others. Somebody has to score and we already know Conway isn't going to do it, and Strelec isn't, Whittaker scores a few and then disappears for 10 games.

Automatic promotion requires winning at least 25 games. Failing to score 13 times in the season makes it really hard to win 25 times.
 
I was thinking about Hackney and Morris earlier on and was thinking that you could compare them to Matt Holland and Scott Parker at Charlton, where Hackney was the more attack-minded of the two with higher goal contributions. I then looked at the stats of Holland and Parker and was very surprised that they only played 22 games together and over the course of less than a season.

I remember them as a classic 'Barclaysmen' duo of the Premier League and yet they weren't at Charlton together for very long. Goes to show that memory can be very deceiving.
