Akpom or Watmore

Akpom has played nearly 100 championship games. He's scored 8 goals. He's not even managed double figures in the Greek league. We're in a sorry state with our transfer dealings if we are even considering him being part of the squad.

I forgot about Hoppe, my mistake.
Forss, Hoppe, (Larsen, Gyokeres, Muniz or whoever), Akpom and Coburn. That's our 5 and Coburn would probably be loaned out in that case and we'll keep Akpom, plus Kavanagh and Finch as reserves and let Watmore leave, back to Sunderland or somewhere.

We may get 2 new strikers a Larsen and another and let Akpom go aswell... Leaving Forss, Hoppe, New1, New2 plus the kids...but i think CW will leave a bit in the kitty til January.

Armstrong isn't coming, he started for them against Spurs and they're trying to sell Che Adams, so no way does Armstrong go from starter, to leaving on loan to us in a couple of weeks.
Sunderland look like they have a couple of good strikers to me in Simms and Stewart

I don’t have a problem with him being 1 of 5. He looks a better option than Watmore right now. He will be 5th choice more than likely, he’s shown he suits the system in the last 2 games.

I still reckon we will get Hoppe and 2 more on top of that with Coburn leaving on loan and Watmore either leaving permanently or season long loan.

Forss
Akpom
Hoppe
Muniz loan ( seems likely)
European striker for a fairly large fee
Larsen - Hopefully, he's who i want, or a big expensive striker to be our no9 and main forward
Muniz - He'd only come to be a major player, he can sit on Fulhams bench in the prem he wont wanna sit on ours
Hoppe - Has hopes of reaching the WC for USA so he wants to play
Forss - Just signed, you'd think he was given some assurances of game time
Akpom - Bench, see also Kav, Finch and will be lucky to see the bench.

I like that. There is questions over Hoppe coming to be 3rd choice, or Forss to come to fight for 4th, and keeping Akpom on his wage to barely make the bench but i do like those names. There some serious options off the bench.

If we want promotion that’s what we need, genuine competition. I’m intrigued to see how Hoppe performs when he gets a chance. I’d imagine he will be on bench Sunday.

What is the the close off to register him for Barnsley? Midday Tuesday?

I'm pretty intrigued too, although after his last year and fee I'm not 'excepting' loads from him. But with a broken clock being right twice a day sort of thing, surely we can sign a striker for a modest fee who scores regularly and goes on to become a bit of a cult hero, once in generation can't be too much to ask?

Having plenty of options - including plenty who expect game time - is desirable, not a problem to solve. The combination of 5 subs, hard pressing and the modern approach to view subs as part of the gameplan, not an alternative to it means they all get to play, no matter who appears to be first choice.

Yeah I’d imagine that’s the deadline but not one hundred percent on that
