Akpom told he can leave

As per Greame Bailey

I despair for any striker trying to play in our system under Warnock.

A one legged Donkey would do a better job than Akpom most of the time.

Nothing to do with the system, he's just a poor striker.
I disagree, theres a player in there, he has good movement and at this level he could do a job but leaving is probably his best option given NW is looking for big lumps to hold the ball up and win headers.

cant see many teams wanting to pay his salary though

His best return was 8 in an inferior Greek league.
You can blame the club and Warnock for signing him, but he's never been a goalscorer.

He's made over 100 appearances in England and has scored 8 goals, 5 of them were with this season.

He’s literally the sort of striker we would usually be linked with as well. The sort of player that all the fans are scratching their heads as to why we would be linked with them and we would be mad to buy, except we went ahead with it. His record speaks volumes. Yes sometimes players do click but the odds were against the guy

I don't think there is any doubt that Akpom has some very good qualities. Some of them are not appreciated. His ability to take defenders away to allow space is excellent. We don't always see that but it is there.

With out current set up this is not a quality that we value too highly nor is it particularly useful to us.

He might therefore be better suited to another club who can see his attributes more clearly and utilise them

Im just basing that on when Ive seen him, he's looks promising in the past few games

being told he can leave and going are separate things though

Yet another decision the club has made that has cost us....and what is more alarming is the fact we didn't even need hindsight for this!

His record at this level is absolutely shocking, you really have to question why we ever took a chance on him based on those stats

A truly dreadful signing. I've not seen many more ineffective players than Akpom in all my time watching football. How anybody thought he was worth almost £3m beggars belief.

Akpom might have ability but as a forward the most important is shooting which he doesn't do enough of.

so who is to blame here. we hear warnock saying he scrapped some deals the club were putting together for defenders from europe who he said were no good. so who approved this one? was he signed under warnocks nose?

Annoys me a bit that Warnock complained he'd played the whole season with no strikers after spending £3m on this guy. Oh, and the other three forwards in January. And Watmore.

Bit like Pulis insinuating that he was managing with one hand behind his back and that he wouldn't waste Steve Gibson's money, except for the £7m on Aiden Flint and the £8m on George Saville.
