Type of signing we should be making.Sky saying we have an interest in signing him, only 1 year left on his current contract.
He would be centre back I think it's his preferred position. Feels like a Rav Replacement.Would be very happy with this. A right back capable of playing 35-40+ games next season is exactly what we need. Totally solves our current problem in that position.

With Brittain coming in as the right back/wing back but it's nice to know Gilchrist can fill there when needed.
Upwards of 3mil?I've only ever seen him play RB I think. Wonder what sort of fee they'd be looking at, can't imagine it being cheap with Chelsea regardless of how long is left on his contract.
That's the only issue for me. Which is why I think he would be fine in a 3 but bit doubtful if it's a flat back 4. Maybe another reason he's been used professionally as a right back.Bit small for a CB

Tell that Baresi and Cannivaro both 5 foot 9, two of the best CBs ever. I'm sure Alfie can make a good name for himself in the game at 6 footBit small for a CB
I suspected someone would say that, why do they always do this!.....it isn't a comparison of abilities, it's evidencing that you can make it to the absolute top as a CB even at 5 foot 9. So being 6 foot shouldn't stop you being good enough to get promoted from the championship.that’s some comparison!
On the flip side, how tall was Aiden Flint? 6 4, 6 5? And he was dogsh*t for Boro.I suspected someone would say that, why do they always do this!.....it isn't a comparison of abilities, it's evidencing that you can make it to the absolute top as a CB even at 5 foot 9.
