Ameobi Stats

From a guy on twitter, @loupirolo worth a follow, he provided the stats on the argentinian and on Ikpeazu that I posted. Ameobi is probably less of a surprise, we know his strengths already.

Strengths:
- Aerial duels he is off the charts
- Effective at duels in both boxes (offensive and defensive)
running at players he does it often and is fairly effective at it
- Above average passes, but below average accuracy with it, but that's because he likes to play the ball forward which is always harder (forward, through and smart passes into the final third)
- gives it away a lot in those passes into the box (his biggest weakness)
- Lots of shots and lots on target

A proper Warnock player I guess

He is not a winger though imho, he has ability, he is tricky, he is also wasteful. I remain unconvinced on this 29 year old, his career has not been upward

Ive often thought players should have statistics showing chances crrated for teammates who go on to miss or have shots saved instead of just assists that are converted. Ameobis creative stats could be better if he had pukki finishing them for example

If he's not a winger then what is he....?
I would class him as a winger, very good close control definitely needs more consistency but Warnock could get that from him 👍

Could end up going two ways with him. I got feeling he will hit the ground running. He is closer to home. He has still got a house in the north east.

I don't disagree with any of that. If I was asked to sum him up with one word it's "wasteful". I'm surprised just how strong he is in the air, bit like his brother, but without scoring from it. Wingers need to be decent at crossing, he isn't, he's more of a wide forward I guess bit like Watmore

He has a huge amount to prove to me, but I think he can probably perform better in a Warnock set up, get the ball forward quickly, and use height and strength and pace to commit defenders, is something he might do well with. I doubt he'll offer much protection or high press though

Agree with this mate but watching him for forest at times he was unplayable on some sky games, he Will do well if Neil can unlock some consistency

That's the key with Ameobi, one day he's Ronaldhino and the next he's Ronald McDonald. Even 10% improvement in his consistency and he'll be an asset. One thing I'll say is if we get Hall, McNair, Fry, Ameobi and Ikeapzu on the pitch at the same time our goal to dead ball ratio will significantly improve, they can't mark all of them.

Spot on mate, I really do trust warnock to assemble a squad

Yep I totally agree... I remember Stewart Downing at Liverpool was creating heaps of chances yet hardly had an assist to his name as the strikers simply weren't putting em away.
