Andrew Tate interviewed

I’m constantly staggered that this utter tool has achieved the level of ‘fame’ and notoriety that he has. He is a first class, grade A, n o b.

That fact that he even exists represents everything that is wrong with modern society

Who puts him there tho? Those who support him.. or those that say he’s an idiot and share his videos etc?

It is all very sad. I have a pet theory on this 'Tate as influencer' thing. My step-daughter is doing a PhD on that left-behind generation of working class youngish men who follow him and so I talk with her about it quite a lot.

My theory (which is probably bollox anyway but here goes) is based on my experience of working alongside loads of lads back in the day who'd now be among these 'left behind' young men who think he's something to aspire to. These lads were labourers, and they worked alongside blokes who'd been doing that job all their lives and had seen it all and done it all. They were hard as nails, really funny and quick witted - and ruthless! Those older guys acted as a brake on a lot of the nonsense beliefs and outpourings of some of the younger fellas. They were in effect role models. When one young 'un came out with some ill-informed crap, what tended to happen was they'd be roundly ridiculed for it by the older men and get laughed out of the tea cabin and he'd have to think again or face being laughed at every day.

Those kind of workplaces are gone. Work is often temporary and liminal and the old guard aren't there. The young men who follow Tate and are in effect his fan base would have been mocked into line back then but now instead, they often work and live together away from home as contractors. They're often around the same age, share the megaphone of social media and what's said so often between them becomes utterly true to them.

young lads have always been idiots.. now we have an arrested development type scenarios where we have middle age teenagers gawping over a chinless pimp.

add into this the age of trump, a celebration of lies, crookedness and corruption.

See that 38 year old with a baseball cap and a watermelon vape, he looks up to Boris Johnson.. HE’S A FCUKING MORON and he’s not alone.

I think that. One of the things that makes me feel old. Like with the energy drinks bottles. There's just no way Tate would be seen as cool by school kids in the 90s or early 00s. Hes a try hard, always gets flustered in his interviews.

What a total c o c k

("Tate, who described himself as the “most influential man on the face of the planet”, went on to call the allegations “fabricated” and claimed “thousands of women have come to my defence”)

The working man club is exactly the same as those workplaces. They are a dying breed too. You have to be on your toes and quick witted otherwise you get overwhelmed. Going to the fairway and Ennis square social in my early years helped me a great deal.

I find that when I’m with a group of people I’m able to adjust to what the deem to be acceptable but also keep my authenticity.

I think your theory carries a lot of weight personally. It was the old guard in the club that kept you right

My theory ....

Interesting theory. You can add to it by pointing out that instead of older men as role models, it's easy for them to find literally thousands of like-minded lads on social media who will back up Tate and his stupid beliefs.

In the past, with no social media, there would be one lad and a few mates - now those 'mates' can run into the thousands, their influence can be huge.

Whoppers like this moron have existed for generations. They were loners in society who rightly or wrongly (that’s a different debate) were left to get on with it and either changed their ways or went down the path of no return and ended up in prison

They were loners for a reason… they had no contact with anyone who had the same beliefs

The issue now is you don’t need face to face contact. You have the World Wide Web giving these men a community, a reason for being. It’s back to the school playground of I’m in the gang and I’m cool.

They all have the same beliefs and feed into each other to the point of extremism.

The only way to close Pandora’s box is to close down the internet… and that’s not going to happen

90’s was all about being effortlessly brilliant.. now it seems now we are in the age of the desperately shyte.

a fully grown man acting like a creepy af 12 year old boy

The internet as echo chamber has become a huge problem in modern society. It has lead to acts of domestic terror, mass shootings and allowed the rise of cretins like Andrew Tate.

The rise of the "influencer" is an indictment of modern society.
The internet has many benefits but, also a very dangerous dark side.

I mean.. there were terrorists before and shootings.

It has given a platform for niche celebrities who seem to grow off the back of idiocy.

Sounds like Trump.

Baffles me that anyone sees what these people are saying and can't comprehend that they are morons and bullshitters.
