Another season to be written off

Warnock will go at the end of the season, unless we look like going down, which would hasten his departure.

Then there will be another change of direction with different players coming in, needing time to bed in and transition being mentioned again…..

I’m sick of it, I’m really losing the will.

The hope is that there won't need to be a drastic change of approach in terms of what we do in the transfer market. This squad has the makings of a squad that can compete for the top six places, IMO. We need a centre half, a central midfielder and a left back. We need some leadership. That probably sounds quite optimistic but I genuinely think we have a decent team in there somewhere.

We now have a broader range of attacking options but I honestly don’t think there is a single player we would really miss if he didn’t play.

Exactly this, the appointment of Scott suggests we are gearing up for a new direction. I can't see the point in flailing about with a failing manager, system etc.

If we had just appointed Warnock in the same way as Woodgate (a young manager launching a new chapter for the club) you could understand people saying give him time, or the season, or to get his own players in.

Warnock is leaving in 7 months anyway, he's a dinosaur from a previous time, the style of play, team selection, formation etc. changes on a weekly basis. The only consistent thing is that from January (since when he's signed around 20 players) we are on bottom 5/6 form.

It will be really interesting to see what would happen if Norwich's manager gets the bullet and there's an out of contract manager who (you would assume) Scott would be very comfortable working with available.

We drastically miss Bola when he's not around. You could reasonably argue it's because he's the only senior left back but he's a good player too. He's actually a genuine bright spot from Warnock's time in charge. I think we'd miss Fry. We missed him last season. That's only two, I know, but it's about the team - if we could just add some leadership then the rest of them would look much better. Lots of people said the same about Mowbray's team, that if we just had a centre-half and a No9 we'd be in pretty good shape. One or two good, proper signings could improve 7 or 8 other players. I think that's where we are currently.

Yeah, maybe Bola.

Fry has offered little this season.

This feels kinda like the Mowbray before Karanka era to me. Just in terms of now transitional its been and how we appear to have some pieces of the jigsaw but maybe need someone to put them together. Not sure Neil Warnock is that man.

Wouldn’t want you in the trenches with me…..🥱🤣

Well, we have had the experienced managers such as Strachan, Pulis, Monk, Allison and got nothing but pain.
We have had the rookie managers such as Anderson, Charlton, Rioch, Robson, McClaren and to some extent Karanka and have been successful. Goodness knows what to do next.
