Anthony Taylor attacked by Roma fans

The behaviour of the Roma ‘fans’ in the airport was appalling, the guy was travelling with his wife and kids for crying out loud. That’s how big the hooligans are that they intimidate a woman and child like that, embarrassing.
And 100% they should have the book thrown at them as a club, but make no mistake, Jose Mourinho should be the focal point of any punishment. He knows what type of following that club has, and with his antics was completely whipping them up which is tantamount inciting trouble.
When he was in the early days of his PL era, I found him borderline amusing, now it’s just pathetic. The guy is 60 years of age and is abusing referees in a car park after a European final. It’s smacks of a guy who is frustrated that his idea of football is now out dated and resorts to the pantomime villain and baiting of officials and opponents. The guy has been a serial winner, but for me he tarnished his standing in the game with stuff like this.
I would sit him down with Anthony Taylor as part of the investigation and rewatch the whole game back and analyse the decisions, then he might see how much of a fool he has been.

Paranoia is one thing but let’s not be naive here as there are plenty of refs that don’t like certain sides or manages and vice versa.

I know for a fact that after one boro away game the ref went into the home team dressing room after the game and had his top autographed for his son.

After the Arsenal game semi final the ref went back home on the arsenal coach apparently as he was on the way ok it’s nothing but it makes you wonder.

The Bolton based Sunderland season ticket holder ref that can ref Sunderland.

So let’s not pretend it’s a level playing field because it isn’t.

It is a level playing field really. Every team suffers bad decisions, but the memory of those persist while the decisions that are favourable are forgotten within hours.

It annoys me because people call refs incompetent or corrupt when they make a mistake, but when strikers miss open goals or defenders score own goals, it's just 'part of the game'.

Everyone makes mistakes. Why criticise refs when the players are screwing up too?

Players get slaughtered all the time for mistakes?

I would give the "special one" a "special punishment" for inflaming fans, with his agressive antics after the game....and an OSCAR.

The people on the video should be fined who physically threatened the referee and his family at the airport.

It used to happen in the past too, but not filmed with referees luggage thrown around the airport by staff there, particularly in Italy. Its a tactic to soften referees up to be generous to the big Italian teams.

this is why VAR has to be eliminated from the pro game as refs and VAR are being measured from league to league, game to game on the consistency of VAR.
