Any Conservative voters left?

The only time I would vote in favour of the Conservative party would be in a court of law for the murder, racism and thievery. We find them GUILTY your honour!

Guaranteed win here in Hambleton and Richmondshire for them unfortunately - not a chance they’ll be ousted here, no matter what they do wrong
Yep it's depressing isn't it? I don't know why I even bother voting, it holds absolutely no value unfortunately

My current workplace. By the next election, I'll probably be over here as well.
OH wow. I'll see you in the Patch sometime!

It looks like Labour will be a wasted vote hereabouts. Not a lot of red in the map. So It'll have to be Lib Dem for me for the Anyone But Tory plan

Sadly the Daily Mail and Sun will probably publish a funny photo of Kier Starmer eating a sandwich, which will be enough ammunition for the gap in the polls to close up again.

If you think that makes me sound like someone who had very little faith in the British electorate, then you are right.

When you looks at the Polls it has the Tories on 27%, but in Great Britain there is no other right of centre party that would get more than 0.5%. So all the right wing support flows to one party, now UKIP have gone and the orther parties have all moved to the Left.

Of the opposition parties I would call the:

Greens - left wing
Liberals - centre left
Labour - left wing (certainly at last election)
SNP - left wing
Plaed Cymbru - left wing

In some seats there will be 4 major parties standing , but 3 will be seen as left of centre, unless the Liberals move away from centre-left. At one point I thought the Liberals had more left wing policies than Labour (pre Corbyn) e.g local income tax for Liberals.

Thats a lot of left of centre parties in some ways it would be better for the non Tory Vote to merge into a Centre Left Popular Front Party, as they would take over 80% of the seats in England and then definitely have a UK overall majority.

Why I live I can see the Tory voting dropping from 55% to 40% but still get in as other votes go Liberal 32%, Labour 20% Greens 8% - its a seat similarly to Scarborough/Whitby. Its 50% rural population, with quite a a lot of comfortable off retireds and this group is increasing. The Greens are growing but they are mainly taking former Liberal and Labour voters or voters that would have voted for those parties. The Liberals by going 100% for the EU/Remain side in the referendum debate have lost some potential voters, that they may have had in the Blair years, in rural Brexit type areas.

Labour cannot be described as left wing now - centre left at best

Johnson got in on the back of Brexit and the working class vote, Truss got in through the backdoor with 1%. Yep, it depends if the so-called 'working class' wake up. Atm the Tories would not get in but who knows what might happen in the next two years, and they always have Murdoch.
" Johnson got in on the back of Brexit and the working class vote."

You can add Thatcher on the back of the Falklands and the working class vote to that.

What blew me away about that, was the fact that I knew so many people that had been adversely affected by Thatcherism
and yet, many for the first time, had finally got off their backsides and voted for her " cos we beat the Argies".

Absolutely mind blowing. Nothing surprises me anymore with " the working class vote "

I want to know where all the folks have gone who were speaking out so vehemently against Jeremy Corbyn’s £48bn ’magic money tree’?

£45bn tax cuts (from this latest mini budget) that needed a further £65bn to just stabilise the economy. This government is not fit for purpose and is negligent in the extreme. We have unelected PM are raiding our pockets, our pensions, our public services, our welfare and oour NHS. They have no mandate for this.

Diane Abbott got absolutely crushed with never ending memes after making a verbal gaff, this is genuine real life stuff we’re talking about here. This isn’t right wing/ left wing.. If you pay bills! If you rent, if you have a mortgage, if you have a pension. Not a single peep?!?

There is a serious lack of Politicians in all parties at the present time.
Westminster has become no more than a lucrative Bandwagon.

I agree we are a long way from the quality across the board in the 1970’s and Thatcher and Blair each had many heavyweights. In general the overall quality in Parliament even 6 years ago was not particularly good compared to the past.

A measure of that is Cameron leading the Conservatives. Post Major, only Hague was a heavyweight leader of that party. Howard and IDS were very poor. Cameron was better than them but still very lightweight. He did have Osborne though, who was probably more heavyweight, plus Hammond and May and a handful of able, decent politicians like Grieve and Gauke. After Cameron May wasn’t lightweight just unsuited to the position and in an impossible Brexit position which she handled badly. The Remainer One Nation intelligent Tory purge left only Gove with any real ability. Neither Johnson or Truss nor any of the candidates sufficient quality for cabinet let alone PM.

An even bigger measure would be the Lib Dems. When you think they had for a time Jeremy Thorpe, David Steele, the gang of 4, Ashdown and Charles Kennedy in charge, that then became Clegg, the dreadful Jo Swinson, Fallon and now Davey, it’s a huge drop in quality.

Labour are currently a long way ahead. There is no one in the Blair, Brown, Mandelson, Campbell, Prescott, Beckett, Kinnock, Foot, Benn bracket, but Cooper, Hilary Benn, Ed Miliband, Starmer, Lammy, Rayner, Bryant, Streeting, Nandy, Reeves, Debbonaire and Phillipson are serious and able politicians. Thank god.

This Labour Party has the potential to be the best party in a lifetime, if not all time. They meet the demands of business and at the same time willing to look after working people. The only people who should be afraid of them are those with skeletons to hide or simply too much money.
