Any painters on here?

If its of any help, I can offer you several blank canvases, I will even provide paint and brushes, all free. You can practice to your hearts content, heck, I know this is gonna sound overly generous, but I will even through in a roller, tray, masking tape and free tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits if needed. PM me when you want to start. Thank me later 👍

Small update on this; managed to get a space set up in the loft but I’ve actually found myself really enjoying doing some digital watercolour portraits in the last couple of weeks on my iPad (using the Procreate app).

Will attach some images to this post as long as they aren’t too big. Thinking of setting an Etsy shop up as I’ve been getting a lot of requests just from friends and family on Facebook, Instagram etc.

If anyone is interested in one, just send me a message on here, prices are relatively cheap compared to other Etsy store owners for now.
Brilliant work.
Is a good website for selling art prints, it's a hassle to set up each individual piece for each individual item you want to offer on your store. But once it is set up then it's a passive income if the artwork is popular and then just uploading art to it as you create it.Screenshot_2023-08-01-21-14-11-27_99c04817c0de5652397fc8b56c3b3817.jpg
This is my latest drawing.

I came across that site the other day when looking into Etsy on YouTube, it was mentioned with a few other alternatives.

The 10% margin threw me off a bit, but then I noticed it said for art, framed, and canvas prints you can set it as more… have you managed to do that?

It's been a while since I have used it, I just about quit art for over a year and only in the last month or so started working my way back into.
From what I remember you choose which products you want your work on(pillow cases, rugs, mugs etc etc) and these have a base price plus your 10% which is how much a customer pays for it. You can go above the 10% say 25% so if a print base price was £10 they would add your 10% on and charge £11 for it when a customer purchased it and you would get the £1. Obviously this isn't much but it you have art which isn't a commission piece it could make you some money without much additional work instead of it sitting in a folder. Once you have made the adjustments and put it in your store it can stay there indefinitely and potentially be making money without doing anything else with it(no postage, no dealing with customers, no extra time drawing to certain specific requests, with it being print to order no additional expenses on art supplies) it is a good way to be creative and express your own art without the extra pressures of doing art for a specific customer and still potentially make some money from it.
(I hope I have explained this ok, I was just about to go to bed when I saw your reply and question so I'm not on best form answering your question right now 😂).

That does make sense 😂 I’ll have to start to building up my work!

Hobbies, an expensive thing. I've just spent a fortune on a tool for my workshop that I really, really need and are hoping it gets delivered before the wife comes home from work.

I hope she never sells my tools for the price I've told her I paid for them.

There used to be a lady poster Jan Foley who came on here and owns Yarm Originals. I am sure if you do a shout-out to her or contact her through her website, she will be glad to help.

I haven't seen Jan on here for some time now.

Thanks for the mention. I’m still around just not been on here for a while

I’m looking to get back into some painting during the summer to keep me ticking over while I wait for the football to come back. Using canvases, acrylics etc.

I’ve made some space in the house for a small studio but now I’ve hit a wall while looking for some supplies - was just wondering if anyone had any favourites they use / any hacks that they find works well etc, also best places to get them from.

Don’t really want to spend a ridiculous amount but is anything cheap these days?
Hi there, sorry I am a bit late in the day to be commenting on this post but from what I’ve seen you’ve been given lots of good advice and have now set yourself up with an Etsy shop and started selling. I’m based in Eaglescliffe so if you ever want a meet up then just get in touch, Jan

After that you can come over to ours as I’ve got a knackered Countax sit on mower a couple of old rotorvators and a dozen old cans of paint you can have for nowt.😉
