Any player from the youth teams ready to step up?

In view of our small squad, are any of the U23s ready to feature in the 1st team?

Sam Stubbs - 22 years old. Spent plenty of time out on loan. Presumably it's time to either step up to the 1st team, or get rid? Is he good enough?

Nathan Wood - cannt be far off?

Anyone else?
 
Not really seen Stubbs but Wood should be sent out on loan.

As for strikers, we have Walker who I don't think will ever step up on a regular basis. Hope he proves me wrong.
 
I few looked decent last season in pre season under Woody and were never seen again.

I'm not sure Walker will make it as a forward. Hope he proves be wrong as its about time we produced one.

Wood needs game time. He's was a fixture on the bench but never got a look in. I guess the fact the game situations and we were never 'cruising' means you couldn't throw him on for experience.
 
Malley, Wood & Liddle are the three who could potentially push for a 1st team squad place, but I expect all three to go out on loan at least for the first half of the season, all I think need 20/30 games a league 1/2 level before being ready to challenge for a 1st team place at champo level. Wood should have gone out last year, another **** up from Woodgate as he treat him like a bit of a protege and thought he could learn more at Boro (warming the bench every other game) rather than playing, if he had have gone out on loan for the season, he could well be pushing for a first team place this season, sadly for us, we will I expect, not see him challenge the 1st team for another season
