Anyone been scammed by Parcelforce?

So, given we'll on lockdown for a while and my old creaky laptop isn't coping well with all this working from home: I get my landlady to courier my iMac home so I could work on that instead.

I went through a company called parcel hero and they booked a parcelfroce delivery which didn't turn up. When I queried parcel hero the delivery mysteriously then gets marked as "delivered" three hours earlier. I went to the front desk of my building and we have footage of the parcel force driver arriving at my building and delivering parcels for others but mine clearly isn't amongst them.
I ring parcelforce direct to complain and they say "we'll check with the depot" but never call me back. Anyway, cut to today and the driver is now claiming he rang my buzzer (Which I don't have) and left it at "number 7" (Which I have just checked, doesn't exist as an address)
Not sure what my legal rights are here as it seems that he has stolen it.

Surely if you have CCTV, an iMac would be a sizeable and weighty parcel size. Confirm CCTV doesn't show that parcel being delivered and that number 7 has confirmed they haven't taken any parcels in.

Have you checked FindMy to see if its been online? wont be much good if it has a password on it

Parcelfarce as they are commonly known. You need to be persistant with pursuing it with both parties. Effectively it may be theft.

I've done the first two things (well No. 7 is the costa that is closed so he definitely didn't deliver it there.) The CCTV clearly shows him coming into the building and delivering parcels, none of which are mine.

Find my may be a good idea, although it does have a password on.

Yes Borolad: Benefit of the doubt was being given yesterday, it might have been a simple mix up. Now he's lying about what he did with the parcel, it's looking more like theft.

I suggest you get in touch with his Depot manager who can download all his deliveries and if yours was delivered there would have been a signature for that delivery from the person at the front desk. If the desk was unmanned it would be up to the delivery person to sign on behalf of the recipient which basically means he has either, failed to scan your delivery or block scanned the whole consignment without checking. Failing to do either makes the driver culpable for the mistake. The items should be loaded onto the van by the driver and off scanned by the same driver normally. Well that's how it works where I have done agency work for. Hope it helps and good luck. Certain items we recognise as shiny items and require a signature or they will NOT be left with anyone but the addresse.

DPD aren't doing signatures on deliveries (at least in my recent experience and from what their app says), they're doing contactless deliveries, but they are supposed to show a photograph of your door open. However as they will leave parcels with neighbours, I've taken to putting in the online instructions DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING WITH A NEIGHBOUR as I've had DPD theft before on £600 bottles of perfume, luckily our usual bloke is pretty sound, but sometimes you get someone else. One of the larger perfume groups I run on facebook has an instance with a DPD driver leaving a parcel outside his house, and marking it as delivered, didnt even ring the bell - it was on a main road so was rapidly stolen, and retailer isn't doing anything about it as from their perspective tracking states delivered, so it goes to show how careful you have to be with leave with neighbours/safe place instructions - we've had CCTV On our front door and driveway for a few years now and it has saved us a few times with couriers when they say something is delivered and we have video of them not even coming.

When I had the DPD theft, the challenge I had was getting anyone to do anything about it. I was lucky in that I had it delivered to sainsbury's in yarm and as soon as they handed it to me i realised it was light, so i asked them to watch me opening it and got them to sign a statement to confirm i opened it in front of them and that it was empty. I contacted DPD who started an investigation, and I never heard back from them. Luckily the retailed accepted my statement and the photos showing it before i opened it where you could see how an item had been forced out of the side and then closed back cup again as the cardboard was all wrinkled. stupid packaging to use really where you could do that.

So, because the delivery driver "clearly" didn't deliver your package, the only explanation can be that he stole it?

I think there's a lot more that could have happened.

im guessing hes "jumped" to that conclusion because the driver has allegedly lied about his actions, ie ringing a buzzer that doesnt exist and leaving it with another address that he didnt...

Yeah.
Strange resolution. I rang up and again got the lie about it being delivered to a building that didn’t exist. When I pointed out I now have no choice but to go to the police because it sounds like theft they said no it to be fine. 30 minutes later it mysteriously got reviewed.

Due to the erratic message above I have to ask

“ if you’re tied to a chair and gagged with a parcel force henchman holding a baseball bat in front of you , just tap your feet “

😎

I work for dpd local & because of safe distancing. We don’t need a signature but we do have to take a photo of the package by the open front door of the property. Ideally with the recipient in the photo, but if they refuse to be in the picture the open door is proof enough. All our deliveries are gps tracked.

Contact the depot explain you’ve got cctv footage & everything else. Tell them you are reporting it to the police.
