Anyone else sick of living in England?

With our horrendous failure with Covid, our corrupt and lying government seemingly answerable to no one and of course the isolation and restrictions to our movement and damage to our economy caused by Brexit anyone else feel like they are living in a hopeless country?
I really can’t see a way to stop us becoming a third world banana republic at the moment and it’s properly upsetting me.

Despite all of that ST I have friends who live in the USA and Spain and they to do not have a good thing to say about their government, their economy, their Covid response etc. etc.

My argument about staying in the EU was that you can't improve it if you're not in it.
Same can be said about living in the UK.

I know what you mean, but is anywhere any better at the moment.
When all else is down, I always think to my self that it could be worse, at least I am not Welsh.

I hate this country - mostly due to brexit. But then COVID has shown me just how selfish and horrible people can be by denying the issue and/or spouting conspiracy rubbish - so insulting to people who have suffered through out the crisis.
I am British, but totally ashamed to say I am English. Little Englanders/Right wing populism is ruining society.

Apart from the weather I'm quite happy here

Wherever you live you will find fault and something to moan about
There will always be something, but only in England is there such a high risk of dying with covid, combined with a declining quality of life

There’s plenty of times I wish I lived In The Alps or Canada, especially with this government and everything that’s gone on in the past 5 years.

However, when it comes down to it, I love the rolling hills of the British countryside, country pubs, and the variances of regional architecture we have, and things would have to get significantly worse for me to abandon ship I’d think.

There are quite a few better places I would imgaine. The majority of European countries haven't just enforced economic sanctions on themselves and pretty much all of Aisa, Africa and Australaisia is coping much better with Covid

I love the UK & as others have said, its nice to travel to different countries but better to return home & back to the Boro
I just disagree right now. Really struggling to see the good points. If I could convince the other half to leave I'd be out of here as soon as it was possible

I do hate the weather. But almost everywhere is struggling with the virus, and/or something else.

Other than that it’s a decent place to live really. Pretty well connected and we have the best team sports.

Always makes me laugh to see things like this. You live in a country with a very high quality of living. We are all incredibly lucky to live in this country. Weather might not be great, but it is rarely extreme. Seen a few mention Australia and how it dealt with COVID, but neglect to mention the risks of wildfires which will inevitably get worse over the next few decades

I would think it would be a gamble even in the best of times TBH

I love everything about the UK, from calling round to see friends, unable to at present I know, socialising, going to the match, out for days, I just couldn't visualise living in another country

We'd booked last year to go to family in Winnipeg in Canada for 3 weeks, everything paid for & ready to go but 3 month earlier the country was in lockdown, so never happened, can't see it this year either & as beautiful as Canada will be there's no place like home

People are different, see things differently, if you do move hopefully everything works out for you both
