Are Google Pixel phones any good?

My current phone is starting to act up so looks like I will need a replacement. Also, it's so old that soon I think banking and other apps won't run on it.

Are Pixels any good? I'm looking at the 6a or 6. I'd go for the 6 but I prefer a smaller phone and the 6a is just about the smallest there is now. Why are they all so big these days? I want a phone I can easily stick in my pocket.

Anyway I just need a reliable phone for basic stuff that is reliable and an Android so I can use it with Android Auto. Appreciate feedback from anybody who has used the Pixel 6a or 6.

Me and the wife both picked up Pixel 6's last year(I got the Pro she got the base model). Best phones we've ever had. They always receive Android updates first too. The pictures they can take are exceptional, even the lower spec "A" models have superb camera set ups.

I'd defo recommend.

I have the 6a and it's spot on. You won't regret it.

I have the standard Pixel 6 and would echo relfy's high regard of the camera: incredible quality.

I've had mine for 14 months and like how the regular software updates haven't slowed it down. Still charges and loads at the same pace and I like the whole Google ecosystem too.

Typing it his on my pixel 6 pro. Great phones, camera to die for. Some people struggle to get used to them though.

I had a 6, great camera but there were a whole bunch of niggly things that I didn't like. I sold it and bought a Xiaomi Readmi Note 10 Pro. Quarter of the price all of the quality.

I reckon if you switch to a bigger phone you won't regret it. More enjoyable to use. (I used to like small phones too).
My current phone is 6.7", and fits in my pocket fine. (I don't have a cover/case on it though).
Good luck finding one you like.

Love my Pixel 6. As said, great camera, speedy updates and it works really well with Android Auto. I only use that wired, not wireless so hopefully someone else can attest to its ability sans cable.
If you're into top end games then there are better options, but if you just want a smartphone rather than a game console that makes calls then the Pixel is perfect.
Would also recommend Spigen cases and screen protectors for it too. A bit pricier, but the gel case is slim and robust and the screen protector comes with a frame to ensure perfect placement.

Thanks chaps/chapesses.

I think I will pull the trigger on the 6.
On checking, it is only 1 cm longer than my current phone because my phone is old and has chunky bezels top and bottom.
That said it's been a great phone. Had it seven years!

I bought a pixel 6 after having a 6.7plus huwaii and I couldnt get used to the small screen typing was a nightmare on such a tiny area. Got my money back and bought a cheap pocco f3 and it was a much better phone.

Pixel 4a here, still as good as it was when I got it back in 2020, still getting all the updates, still has a great camera, all the apps I need are on board and it fits in even small pockets. I dread to think what sort of monolith I'll be presented with as a small phone when time comes to have to change it.

6a owner here. Upgraded from a 2 I bought second hand and was mightily impressed with how well Android worked on it after being underwhelmed by Samsung's bloatware on my previous phone. Form factor was important for me n'all and the 6a plus a decent case is still useable in one hand. My boss has the 6 Pro and loves it also.
