Are people confident for next season?

I tell you what though, I’ve only just seen the highlights from yesterday and I can’t believe people are only questioning Bettinnelli on the first goal, how that pisss weak header came back off him for their second is as bad if not worse! We really do need to send him packing at season end, dreadfully poor.

I’m very confident of play-offs next season yes. Caveat this by saying I don’t care if the football is old skool/one-dimensional/boring or whatever else for some or most of the season. Next season, the goal is simply to get in the play-offs imho and I think we will. In the unlikely event that we are somehow top 2 all season then end up 6th that is still mission accomplished in my eyes.

Not confident at the moment
Recruitment is key , we need to finish the season on a high , not go through the motions .

We've moved in the right direction.

Given no other information re signings etc. I'd expect us to be seriously challenging for the play-offs next season with half an eye on second.

Top half might be acceptable depending on injuries/luck etc. Bottom half would be a failure.

I think Warnock knows what he wants to do. I hope he's backed.

A few months ago I was looking at a Boro team that just looked liked it needed tweaking, with a bit more quality and depth adding to the squad. Warnock had them playing well and like they could compete with any team in the league. We were all excited and clamouring for him to stay one more season to see it through. I was pretty confident we'd be in the frame for promotion next season. But since then I don't know what to think, the wheels have come off and we've been seeing the team do an impression of relegation candidates at times. I'll stay positive though, just based on Warnock's track record which is difficult to ignore, and say I'm confident of top 6 (Just 😬 )

had a full season with mostly well below average performances, watched every one, cant tell you the amount of times I have nearly fallen asleep. Cant see us been up there next season without sweeping changes...

Requirement is an obvious one and has been mentioned many time to the point of frustration for some.

We need work on Spence and Coulson until the end of the season and it would be worthwhile giving Coburn and Hackney a run out. Spence is still finding his feet further up the pitch and I think he could really flourish in our last five games with the pressure off. Same with Coulson. Lets make the best of what we have left. It could be we see two very different players returning into the fold after the summer. We're not looking at the finished article here by a long shot but those two can make massive improvements in such a short amount of time given a bit of game time and the continued coaching from Warnock. Interesting to see Coulson in the number 10 position. You couldn't afford to do that with the playoffs still on. It might not work out, but we've got nothing to lose and the pay off for both players and the club could be well worth it.

Have a look how close we've been against the top teams this season. Add into that our circumstances and I'm sure you'll start to see a much healthier picture.

How many players are we going to need though? It's going to be alot when taking into account the loans and out of contract players.
It's a big rebuilding job, yet again, I have no idea what strength of squad we will have?
As long as we don't end up with alot of aging journeymen

Confidence is probably pushing it. We're a long way off being a side capable of being promoted. Our league position may actually flatter us this season, not far off the play offs but the four teams in those positions currently would play us off the park.

The turnover of players in the summer is going to be huge (if we do it properly). We're probably five or six short of decent sized squad currently plus another five or six departing in the summer.

Unless we've got a spare 30 million lying around I think we'll do well to match this season's finish.

You need to play well against all teams , top , bottom or middle , and all teams have circumstances Newy.
It Is not a healthy Picture. Half the squad are leaving, the manager has said he will leave at the end of next season and retire , probably taking his men with him ., unless it's a job for the boys , making Blackwell or Jepson manager .
We have no money To spend , and need to shop in Aldi .
Tell the truth , would you like JFH or Critchley in this summer , to pick the new players ? Constructive discussion between Boro fans who want the best for the club.
Over to you Newy .

Our last 3 games have been against teams from the top six.

Bournemouth took us apart. Watford and Barnsley not so much.

The Watford game was probably a fair draw and we played reasonably well, but we were appalling (by the standards we've set at times this season) against Barnsley. Had we played better this weekend then we could have beaten Barnsley - they didn't look great.

I'd add that losing Fry has been a massive blow in those games.

yes, but you can't turn on a switch and magic a team into promotion.

half the squad are leaving? Britt, Fletcher.. not exactly value for money. We've got a good base in which to build off. a few cute signings (which Warnock is well known for) and then we have a good champo squad to have a go at it.

What if he is leaving at the end of next season? you want him out anyway don't you? haha

We have no money to spend? we're better off than a lot of clubs and have a bit of cash that will be from freed up wages.

Would I like JFH or Critchley in this summer , to pick the new players ? NO

I like JFH and hope he does really well. He looks like a good coach. I'm not going to trade in a the best champo manager for a much loved ex player because he's doing ok in league one after 17 games.

A couple of months ago yes but form has tailed off. I dont like the style of play, I am increasingly worried about the attitude of the players and some of the man management of the personnel has not been what I call exemplary. I am therefore concerned more than excited about next season.

Warnock sacked off Gestede and saved us from relegation, what do you want him to do now? Offer Britt and Fletcher bumper contacts and wait to see how that turns out? We've already been there I'm afraid.
