Robertson should have scored, he had an excellent chance but blasted it at a perfect height just above the keeper. Either side and they would have been ahead.Robertson must be so frustrated, kept putting great balls into the box which the QPR striker made nothing of....weren't we interested in him last summer, looked just our type
Scotland do lack goals and as average as the England back line is you would expect the bulk of possession to be with England and limit the exposure at the back. Where Scotland may do well is set pieces. England need to avoid silly fouls around the box.
As a Scotland fan I am looking forward to it and a Scotland win is not impossible we see poorer teams turn over better teams regularly. It's what makes football great.
Genuine question:
I understand that Scotland will be up for it, but how does that erase what we saw yesterday?
Scotland have not shown they have any ability to play the game rather than the occasion. They didn't win either of their nations league games in 90 mins to get here and in front of their won fans yesterday lost the plot
Yes. I doubt anyone in the England camp is treating this as a fait accompli - Kane, Rashford and Sterling all played vs Iceland.it shouldn’t make a difference over a 90 minute game. The difference in quality should take over.
even yesterday Scotland were very motivated at the start, the Czech team barely got a kick early on but once the game settled, it was a different story.
as long as we score first, it’ll knock the stuffing out of them, they’re probably already deflated after yesterday.
If the England players take the pitch with that attitude then Scotland will beat them. Look at domestic football we see upsets regularly.Genuine question:

If England turn up and play anywhere near their best they are very likely to win.
Oh I don't think anybody is ignoring the gulf in class, but they are football fans who believe in miracles. I didn't see yesterdays game as I was working so can't comment on whether 2-0 was the right result or not. Luck always plays a part, either small or large. The players are professionals who mostly play for big teams and manage to avoid these banana skins enough to win trophies. They will be focussed.
We see upsets regularly across hundreds of games - but Liverpool win most of the games they play, even against Everton, as Everton are worse than them. And the gap in quality between Everton and Liverpool is smaller.
It just seems to me that it's quite fanciful that because Scotland and Scotland's fans really really really want to win, we have to throw out every other consideration. Inferior players, away from home, less tournament experience.
As stated - they really wanted to win yesterday and it didn't do them much good.
Yes, without miracles what's the pointOh I don't think anybody is ignoring the gulf in class, but they are football fans who believe in miracles.
