Are we over reliant on Giles

Now this is not a post to slag anyone off or thrown any one under the bus. I just wondered what others think of his form recently.

As there’s no doubting his skill but not sure why but of late he’s just looked off his usual game, over hitting crosses and not having the impact we have seen earlier.

As I said I really like him but I think maybe we’ve been over reliant on him.

I think we are asking him to play as a full back who pushes forward, rather than an out and out wingback.

the lad has got skills, there is no denying that.
That’s just it I don’t think he’s having the impact he did maybe we need to

Poor yesterday along with everyone else. Other than that he has done his fair share to help the team of late. He's had plenty of assists and chances created.

As others have said he is clearly not a full back so not really his fault he is being asked to play that role. I'd love us to sign him if the right deal was on offer.

No surprise he's dropped off without Jones.

We need Jones as an outlet on the other side, otherwise we are completely reliant on him for assists.

Teams will quickly work out Forss is more inclined to go for goal himself from the right.

I get that, but I wonder if he is being overwhelmed a little with playing as part of a back 4, and on the occasions he does push past the midfielder, he is a bit too eager and not composed enough.

I do like him a lot, and would be happy to see him sign on a permanent basis.

I think that’s a factor as you say we need balance.

He's probably also trying to improve on his defending (main weakness). I guess Woody and Danks are giving him some one to one tuition. I can imagine he's more aware of his defensive duties now and that might be affecting his freedom in going forwards (his biggest strength). I'm sure he'll be back to his best (attacking wise) in no time and hopefully with improved defensive skills too. He wouldn't be my first concern in this team.

Giles suffered a bit from that shocker of a pitch, and also Sunderland did of good job of marking any targets so not much to aim for.

The amount of quality balls he's put in this season he can have an off day without being overly criticised.

I completely agree just an observation.
