So who is everyone's money on? I think on paper France have the better team but my gut is saying that it's the perfect stage for Messi to sign off with a bang. I'm going 2-1 to Argentina.


Argentina possible starting lineup:
E. Martinez; Molina, Romero, Otamendi, Acuna; De Paul, Fernandez, Mac Allister; Di Maria, Messi, Alvarez


France possible starting lineup:
Lloris; Kounde, Varane, Upamecano, T. Hernandez; Tchouameni, Rabiot; Dembele, Griezmann, Mbappe; Giroud

Heart says Argentina (well, just Messi really), head says France.

Either way history is going to be made. No one since Garrincha’s Brazil of 1962 has retained the World Cup. It instantly springboards Mbappe towards greatness even if Messi doesn’t win.
 
I'd quite like them both to lose. However, I don't think France have exactly dominated world football, and yet they are set to retain the trophy. I'd rather France didn't do that, so reluctantly Argentina.

Argentina have grew into the tournament and that’s normally a sign of a team that will win it.

It would be nice to say we we’re knocked out by the eventual champions….
 
Hoping Argentina, I think they've been the better side in the tournament outside of the opening 2 games, and they have the Messi factor.

But there's just something about France, they're snatching wins in every round and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they do it again.
 
France are not playing great but are still winning, sign of a good team. Just imagine if they had Benzema, Kante, Pogba, Hernandez and the rest in their squad as well who are missing through injury.

Imagine if England lost 6 of their best players to injury we wouldn't stand a chance but the strength of depth in French football right now is scary.

Money on Argentina placed before the tournament but I do think France will nick it. Think it could go to ET and pens tho.
 
Yeah think France will win it but want Argentina to, mainly for Messi but also because it'll **** off Ronaldo if Messi achieves the greatest prize and he doesn't.

You just know it'll eat away at him the massive narcissist that he is.
 
Can’t look past France, that Argentinian defence is nowhere near good enough to win a WC
Really hoping Argentina can do it
