Ashley Barnes to Norwich....

I’m kind of surprised he’s opted for a mid tabled Championship side. He’s kind of a underwhelming player imo but shows a lot of heart but not necessarily much skill.

Was a decent player quick in his head rather than with his feet.. though seems to be getting, even, slower.. TBH I think even the championship is too high a level for him..

A little scoring striker, not what any club needs..

Scored against us though.

Hardly played last season and is an experienced Premier League player with physicality and a will to win....what's not to like guys 👍

Hardly played? 2163 minutes started 22 league games, so half of them. 39 total appearances, so appeared in nearly every match. He played more minutes than Crooks, who outscored him by one and had 5 more assists....and that's a player we are likely to sell.

He has now scored a grand total of 16 goals in his last 4 seasons.

He's 34 in October , as others said above , scoring issues last 3 seasons. I see this as better deal for him than Norwich. He gets a 2 year contract , is likely to be used mainly as a sub , perhaps they don't fancy their U21 strikers , but can't see him leading the way to play-off contention. Surely they will be buying bigger

He'll be on good wages, I wouldn't be surprised if they've signed him to be the foil for Sargent. It'll work up to a degree, but Sargent's finishing is just too erratic for it to get them challenging the top teams.
