"AstraZeneca’s vaccine production site in Belgium was raided yesterday at the request of the European Commission, as Brussels continued to heap pressure on the British company over delays in jab deliveries. ..."

They really are little more than facists.

Is this a wind up? What powers do EU have to" raid" premises
Belgian authorities carried out an inspection at an AstraZeneca Covid vaccine plant in Seneffe, near Brussels, on Wednesday.

A statement from the country’s health ministry was reported to say the spot check was carried out “to make sure that the delivery delay is indeed due to a production problem”, according to PA media.

Spot check or raid?

Where’s the OP quote from?
A few headlines say 'raid' - Telegraph and Reddit - I can't see anything was raided in the reports which all talk of inspection.

Even an inspection will have raised the temperature of the dispute though.

Inspection isn’t sexy, sensationalist or shiit-stiry though is it? Unleash the indignant fury of the masses n all that! So come on, play fair....

You say potato .....

"The extraordinary development came as Belgian regulators were sent in to AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine production site near Brussels at the request of the Ecommission. A first visit by officials from the Belgian federal medicines agency was completed on Wednesday at the site in Seneffe, Hainaut, the health ministry in Belgium said. Samples and records were taken from the plant, and a further inspection of the facility is expected in the coming days."

This is not just an "inspection".

As for indignation, this in the Guardian should be enough on its own.

Great to see the authorities doing their job. Hopefully the UK will be recovering the billions of money defrauded from the public purse for services not provided.

I worked for many years in a regulated industry, and whilst audits and inspections by the regulatory bodies were standard practice they are not entitled to confidential business information such as who the product is being sold to and in what volumes, and certainly not entitled to take documents away.

Like I said this is not just an inspection or spot check. This is disgusting behaviour and the world is watching.

Once you claim force majeure to a government agency, the terms of contract are usually far more onerous than two private companies. This is good democratic government.

The UK government's friends not delivering and nothing being done about it is disgusting corruption worthy of a dictatorship.

@fmttmadmin not being funny but the amount of threads your coming on telling people to behave for nothing, yet here we have someone trying to imply the EU (more specifically Germany) is starting wars again. 🤔
