Interest shift to the left and follows the trend of US elections last year in rejecting populism.

No, she’s. not a popularise politician, she’s very much into society and doing what’s best for society.

If by dictatorship you mean the government stance on Covid then you just need to do a wee bit more research on it from an NZ point of view.

They did make a couple of mistakes, MIQ and how it was managed was one, and also the vaccine mandates going on a little longe than they should have, but overall her management of Covid has been a success, to kiwis living here anyway.

Yes there has been the odd dissenting voice, very loud too at times, like the occupation at Parliament, but that was very much the minority.

However. Like all governments, the time will come when it is time for change, and I do fear for public services and society when the Nats get in.

Many have turned against her here sadly. But its not surprising as this is a hugely fickle nation who swing from National ( centre right) from left easily. Luxon the current National leader is a former CEO of AirNZ and is seen as strong on economy - which has naturally suffered as a result of COVID lockdown. He has attacked Ardern and Labour on being to much of a "nanny state" - which I think is unfair and typical right wing tactic. Bottom line is NZ had 900 deaths in total and protected many of the vulnerable Pacifica.

The good thing is I can't see National getting an overall majority and would only form a minority Government,. Jacinda will move on to other things. I think she has done a fantastic job for NZ population and history will reflect that.

That’s what politicians do isn’t it. Decide what the laws should be and what we should do ? Let’s hope Johnson is next. He did the same while ignoring his own dictat. At least Ardern is an honourable caring politician - something Johnson could never aspire to.

Give me an Ardern any day of the week to a Johnson - that’s the problem these days. People mistake caring for dictating. Johnson doesn’t care and yet he still has 30% of the people in this country giving him approval - presumably all those who feel comfortable to look after themselves and don’t think about others. Depressing.

The right saw it as an opportunity to fool the working class into thinking the left doesn’t care about them, and to continue their ‘spread misinfo/cause division and prosper’ method.
‘Look at that nasty Ardern, denying you the opportunity to earn for your family with these silly lockdowns! This disease is just a cold, you don’t need to avoid it… you’ll be fine…. The sooner you all get it, the better… you don’t need to wait for a vaccine…everything will be better if you just get back to work, honestly. Just. Get. Back. To. Work. Plebs!!!’.
Some folk never did figure out who the real bad guys were in the whole covid pandemic. They still naively follow them and spread their propaganda and message for them and do the work of the right without ever realising it.
They’ve been convinced that those who actually had their best interests at heart, like Ardern, are actually the baddies in it all. It’s a sad world.
