'Away The Lads'

Haway the lads in a teesside accent ,& it was sang as ganin years ago, but all songs are nicked & adapted

I dont remember it like the Sunderland o'way the lads said as quickly as possible then repeat

Ours was more ho'way the lads ho'way the lads ho'way the lads .. ho'way (repeat)

Wasn’t it painted as “H’way the lads” on The Holgate roof at one point ??

I always sang it as away the lads though

It was sang in the build up to games just before the start or the kick off from memory….
Also gone is ; boro boys we are here whoaaaaa…..

We need a retro singing matchday from the 12th man with these two songs and also

‘Gerrrr into em’ and fcuk em’ up’
🤣
Haven’t heard that since I was 10 !
"Boro Boys We Are Here Whoooooa" was sang in a pub at QPR 3/4 years back, admittedly by only a few of us 60 year olds!

Not sure how comfy I'd feel singing 🎶we all agree Carrick is better than Mowbray🎶 😊

Back in those days the player chants were a lot more simple. Go Gary, Gary...Gary, Gary Gary Gary Hamilton. Or if struggling for a chant, just their name followed by 2 claps - Bernie, Bernie Slaven (clap clap) repeat.
Yes and all the better for being simple. We have had some horrendous chants the last few years. Starting from the Karanka days and carrying on today. Written no doubt by budding Ed Sheeran's ;)
