Ball Boys

Someone did say they're not allowed in front of the advertising hoardings (maybe Covid, maybe blocking the ads) a while back, not sure if that is true though.

If that’s the case they need lads with longer arms.

One of the ball boys in the west stand couldn’t reach the ball.

You only had one job etc.

One jumped over the hoarding to get the ball a few games back and got told off by the head steward. Ridiculous. Imagine missing out on that winner yesterday because the players were wasting time retrieving the ball.

It does my head in a bit, Lumley having to wander right over to get the ball, it's just lost time.
Always seems worse at the south stand end

The steward should have picked the ball up then, no law against it, Leo does it all the time.

Probably because the EFL designate the pitch as a red zone, during covid. So no one else but playing staff can go onto the pitch.

I’m not sure that’s correct as other teams in the EFL have ballboys pitch side of the advertising boards. They also certainly do in the Premier League. It seems to be a club decision.

I've definitely seen ball boys in front of the boards at other clubs since Covid was a thing.

Ours have been rubbish for years.

Been like it for a few seasons I wondered if it was a Warnock time wasting strategy when he was here.
