on thé planet by a country fcuking mile!!! All those “I watch Netflix, or I only watch sport are talking BS. See how quickly we’ll be playing “quarters” in soccer once the BBC’s gone, or how many adverts you get in half an hour of “Corrie”. And yet the same moaners happily shell out far more than the licence fee for Sky, Netflix, Prime etc.
If the Tory scum manage to sell off the BBC I can’t wait to read the rants of all those naive enough to think they’re going to be getting Netflix for £9.99 a month or phoning up Sky threatening to leave and getting a massive discount. I’m lucky enough to travel most places for work…..and believe me if they they doubled the licence fee you’d be getting an absolute bargain.
Absolutely nailed it.

Unless something unforseen happens I'll be voting Labour and won't be swayed by 'the left' or Tories - this government and their adherents are out of time. Leftists saying Labour are no different don't surprise me, but are still wrong - and more anti-Labour than anti-Tory if their posts are anything to go by

Its not the BBC that the majority of people are complaining about though...its the fkn slimeballs that occasionally get to run it....

Another tide turned.
There were loads on here supporting it not so long ago when the subject of TV tax came up.

I back the notion of a tax payer funded impartial broadcasting corporation..

The BBC is the best broadcaster in the world but it’s run by Tory supporters and infiltrated by guardian left wing socialists…

The battle is being balanced and up to this incident, I’d generally say it has been…

Now, suddenly it’s becoming a government broadcasting corporation…

Is that the same Labour who had MPs out last week criticising Lineker and saying he should apologise? That Labour?

The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend.

I don't need to tell everyone daily that the Tories are evil. It's a given.

The fact that so many are willing to turn a blind-eye to a Labour party that is moving in the same direction as the Tories on many issues (not all and not as quickly) is where I feel the attention needs to be focused.

In actual fact the infiltration of the BBC by the Tories is a very real parallel with what has been happening with Labour. Twenty years ago someone like Wes Streeting would be nowhere near the Labour party.

I still support it - getting people to be against the License fee - is exactly what the Conservatives want: to remove a publicly funded, Public broadcaster... so esuring only the wealthy set the news agenda..

What is needed is for political interference to be removed from the BBC - for BBC Trustees to appoint & approve senior roles & for a better system of funding to be established - in the long run, maybe non-music BBC radio & BBC1 free to air access to others by a subscription.

I doubt, many that think the internet & content is 'free', see the benefit of paying for the huge range of content the BBC produces...

INHO the BBC is next only to the NHS in things this country gets right - even if both have suffered due to political manoeuvring.

For me the License fee is fine, though should be capped & I'd rather give new talent a chance than pay - ridiculous - amounts to 'stars' including Gary Lineker.

It's the BBC Chairman that needs to go - Tory stooge

The institution needs reform and those with party political connections need to go.

It can't be impartial whilst party members and donators are in senior positions.
