BEN STOKES

I'm not suprised. What's happend with his dad and sheer amount of cricket.

The cricket schedule is brutal. Its not like football where you train/play and go home. These lot stay in bubbles for weeks.

I guess it's all eyes on T20 WC in October. I actually think we could do without him. So much white ball talent. Just give the lad a much needed break. The ashes is best part of 3 months with warm ups. I wouldnt risk him for that either.

Just don't pick him until next year.

Can't blame him at all, hope he gets the help he needs and recuperates.

Better to withdraw now than go through the ***show that the Ashes is probably going to throw up, I don't imagine that will be good for anyone's mental health.

Has a young family and put himself under enormous pressure to perfrom.
His training is relentless, brutal even and nobody sets their standards higher.
Really hope he can relax.

Thought I’d heard the ashes this winter were supposed to be in doubt? Since the players won’t be allowed to bring families owing to Australia’s draconian covid rules

I might have made that up don’t shout at me if it’s wrong.

No, you're definitely correct. Normally player's families will join up around Christmas, but that's not acceptable this time meaning there's a possibility some players won't be able to see loved ones for around four months due to Australia's protocols and the T20 WC in Oct/Nov.

Well if it were me I wouldn’t go.

I'd be stunned if ashes happen. Australia rife with covid and the logistics of moving a test side around 5 grounds and warm up matches.

They are away for 3 months. Just dont see any sense in it.

Then again I guess sponsors may think differently.
