Bernie

Does Bernie realise what Leo has been through? Why is he so bitter? I think it's highly unlikely that Leo will be offered the managerial position but I'm sure he's got a role at the club for as long as he wants it.
He said he has nothing against Leo just doesn't understand how supporters chant a coaches name over a player's name.I think we all love Leo and we've been attached from the beginning and with what he's been through he's a credit to the club.

Doesn't matter how much passion you have, if you don't express it then others won't see it and react to it. Not to say either way is right or wrong but not many are open enough emotionally to be so expressive of there feelings and it generates a reaction. Additionally in Leo's case it isn't simply about football but gratitude for support during a far darker period of his life. Bernie should realise some things are bigger than football and wind his kneck in on this one. Imo.

Well said

Saying on his FB live he doesn't understand why coaches stick around after managers have left like a bad smell, saying all ex players etc are passionate just because there don't beat chest Infront of support.Comparing Steve pears saying he's a club legend did people chant his name when he was a coach under mowbray,I get where he's coming from as much as I love Leo are we just wanting him for his passion or for his talent as a potential manager?
Did Kevin Keegan have talent as a football manager?

Bernie Should stick to his Xmas books!

Here’s a few he could write this week..

‘Slaven not Stirred’ - Cocktails based on uninspiring Boro games he played in.
‘All Sixes and Slaven’ - Centre backs Slaven scored against.. and stuff about them.
‘Snow White and the Slaven Dwarves’ - Stories about Boro players in club bongo.

Must be worried about the sales of his next book.
Loved Slaven as a striker but je forgets he threatened to leave many times. Does that make him less of a legend , not for me it didn't. He needs to let the fans express their admiration and love for Leo and keep his mouth shut.

Like anyone who is a boro fan ..as berne is...and a former ledge...he is perfectly entitled to his opinion....as am I...
Bernie you f%%%%% Ars@hole....its blatantly obvious that Leo's passion resonates 100% with the core of teesside...and the fact it remains as strong after losing his children...is an honour for our club....I wish nothing but continued patronage of boro from Leo in whatever form and bernie....shove it...you bitter bitter man....

I used to love Bernie but the older he gets the more bitter and miserable he becomes. He was my hero for many years as a young un but that has dwindled over the years to the point where I now feel a bit sorry for him.
He’s always been pretty miserable in fairness. Worked well and balanced out Ali’s relentless optimism.

I think the official word for it is Scottish.

Bernie needs to stop being a grade-A pillock and let his bitterness go. Why Leo is supported so much by Boro fans shouldn’t have to be explained to anybody who knows the story. Maybe he should familiarise himself with the interview Leo did in the Sun a few years ago and realise that some things are way way bigger than football. Bernie should be proud of how Boro fans have taken Leo to their heart and have tried to support him, rather than questioning it. Likewise, the way Leo has adopted Teesside and championed the people is very special.
Show some class you silly old git! I love Bernie and his story but Christ almighty, he needs to pick his whinges better! Letting himself down badly.

Why have you deleted the original post?

I managed to read it last night and agree with every word. I watch one of Bernie's Facebook live sessions the other night and he talked about Leo stinking out the place and being part of the problem. He said that any coach with something about them would not have stayed on to work under the number of managers he has. He also criticised the fans for chanting his name.

I generally like Slaven's analyse but this was out of order in my opinion. It's obvious why he been kept on, and I am proud of the club for acting in such a way. For him to get that win last night would have been so emotional for himself and his family. I'm pleased Slaven's views on this are firmly in the minority.
