Black shoes with white soles

OK let this be said - I know nowt about fashion and I don't get out much

But I noticed Zinedine Zidane wearing some on the touchline a while back, which I thought was a bit odd given his all-black attire, and then on MOTD last week two of the presenters had them on too

Is this a fashion thing for footballers or is it more widespread

Fashion thing. Pumps with an exaggerated and typically contrast sole. Don’t be surprised to see them worn with a blazer and trousers in extreme cases in a smart/casual mash up.

I think these lads need some jeans that are 6 inches shorter in the leg😂

I wonder if they got a BOGOF one the trainers? I shudder to think what they cost.

City have a tie in with DSquared2 which means they're contractually obliged to wear those outfits above for travelling (maybe just in Europe I think?).

I too noticed those trainers a few years ago, and have seen multiple examples of them from various designers, including one of my favourite designers Sunpel, although I must say I find them all rather average and pretty boring.

However the FT have also noticed, and even had an article about it earlier this year.

Used to have a pair of black footie boots with white moulded soles me mam bought them from her Kays catalogue in the mid sixties.
Height if fashion me;)

I’ve got a pair of classic kickers in tan suede with chunky white sole. I bought them in lockdown and not worn them yet. I’ll be strutting them around York on Saturday. See how they fair!
