Blackburn fans

I remember that game during lockdown when Branthwaite assaulted Fry. Blackburn never an easy game for us.
Branthwaite assault and then there was the play-off season under Karanka where Dimi was pushed to the floor (and Gibson fouled) for their late equaliser. Think Clattenburg actually apologised for that one!

Due some luck against them, but I'd just take no bad luck and trust the team will be otherwise good enough.

Blackburn and Burnley get regular criticism for their support from rival fans but I think they actually get really good attendances when you consider the Manchester and Merseyside clubs are within an hours drive.

Yeah, we're fortunate to not be anywhere near any successful clubs.

We still have tens of thousands of plastic fans on Teesside even with that.
Must be even harder to avoid when you're actually close to the huge clubs.

Very true, those north Lancashire towns (Preston, Blackpool, Blackburn, Burnley, Bolton, Wigan) don't have big catchments and are all very close to the NW giants, so can't extend. They also have some local minnows in the football league nearby (Fleetwood, Morecambe, Accrington, Stockport, Salford) as well as the old clubs that have sadly dropped out like Rochdale and Oldham.
What Burnley have done in the last decade is unbelievable really.
Didn't realise this until I started working over that way last year. There seems to be a league club in every town (some of them very small) and every few miles. Real hot bed of football that part of the world.

Sorry I am very nervous about tonight. This is all lined up for a Typical Boro moment.

All the plaudits have been lauding us all week.

Come on Boro banish the "typical" title and get one over a bogey team
How many bogey teams have we got??🤣
Bristol City, Stoke, Blackburn it’s endless

Doak, fridge & HH all on 4 bookings... .
1 more and a ban incoming.
Might have influence of who plays tonight
Yellow tonight means available for Burnley & Leeds
There's no point in worrying about it, you just pick the best avlable team and deal with what happens.

Given current form, we’re rightly strong favourites. However…..

1) 1st goal is critical. Oxford was the 1st game in forever we’ve gone behind and won, and Blackburn are better than them.

2) current injuries / illness and possibly needing to rest some players (eg Doak).

3) bogey team.

4) we played at the weekend, they didn’t, which is a huge advantage.

Score 1st, I can see a comfortable win. Concede 1st, could be very tricky.

I'm also worried about tonight. My gut feeling is a defeat tonight and then a convincing win against Hull on Saturday.

Hope I'm wrong of course and we win both games.

I have a bad feeling about tonight but I always do when we play Blackburn and Bristol
City.

Hopefully the referee didn’t play for Rovers in a former life.
