Any recommendations and what you have paid.

I like using fmttm as a reference point so thanks in advance.

If your looking at shutters you tend to get offered the UK or China version. The Chinese ones are half the price but you have to wait about 3 months for them.

Galaxy blinds in stockton were the best priced we found. They use hillarys blinds but are half the cost of hillary blinds.

We got our house done and then my mother in law and an auntie also got theirs done after seeing ours.

Homefair have always been absolutely spot on for me, price and service. They will come to your house measure up and show you samples or they have a showroom at Thirnaby.

We used Mulberry blinds at Stokesley. Nice little showroom. I think they're fairly expensive possibly but did a nice job

Thanks for the suggestions so far. What did people pay for a window. No idea on the coatings.

From memory we got 2x full Bay windows a stairs window and a 3 window normal bedroom window venetian blinds.

We got the fake plastic ones that look like wood. We didn't fancy having to paint the wood every few years. They look excellent and like I said earlier, it inspired others to get the same.

It cost us just over £700.

Your looking at about a grand for a shutter on a bay window. Thats the cheaper version as well. Bedroom windows where about £500-£600 each.

I wish we were. We're looking at the mo and have a normal 3 bed semi with a bay on the front window. Quotes so far after someone coming to measure.
The one on Acklam Rd near Sainburys - £1700
Hillarys - £1800
Galaxy - £1640

Trying to get my Mrs interested in a lovely net curtain I've seen instead.

I can't vouch for them personally but have seen a few places done with a company called beautiful shutters and they look lovely.

Were waiting on some from a local company down south and it was seeing the work the boro based company did that made us want to get them

We did our own shutters with the DIyShutters company.

had to wait for them from China but was about 10 weeks at the time, we paid about £300 per window on average.
Very easy to install for people with zero diy skills and people ask about them all the time

they walk you through the measuring process, which type to choose and everything customisable from the slats, colour, wood, frame etc

pretty good after sales too
