Boris: Anyone thinking I covered up parties is out of their mind

His case starts soon in HoC so he is smearing his lies and skidmarks of disinformation across the UK (again), but he won't do it on a platform where he could be held accountable. Anyway, it doesn't work anymore. People can say with impunity that he is a serial liar secure in the knowledge that he is and can do nothing about it. The committee hearings will eviscerate his foetid, blubbery carcass.

‘Out of their mind’ - that’s good coming from Johnson, there is nothing normal about the way he goes on.

He doesn't get it. Still. By taking this line he is forgetting the fact that the vast majority (all?) the British public made huge sacrifices during lockdown.

I count myself luckier than most, and less affected than many. But even I had to stand alone outside of a funeral of a relative because only a small no,. of people were let in according to the government rules - this at around the same time Boris and chums were having their secret wine deliveries and garden parties.

Just like his friend Trump, that strong upholder of honesty and integrity.

“ Questioned about his financial affairs, the former president repeatedly invoked his fifth-amendment right against self-incrimination – part of a refusal to answer he repeated more than 400 times”

Trump finally admitted that he did have an affair with Stormy Daniels, saying the statute of limitations has passed. he's so F***ing thick, he doesn't realise he lied to everyone and cheated on Melania a year after they were married. He's admitted to being an absolute douchebag and still thinks he's smart because he's admitted it after he can't be prosecuted. Forgetting about the public's opinion which has no such limitation. What a dribbling thunder****

I'm not sure those who have/had a positive impression of Trump will be all that bothered by his recent admission.

Johnson appears to be positioning himself front and centre in the media - not only making the already weak Sunak look like he's not in control, but dividing the party even further.
Long may it continue - at this rate the party will be fractured so badly no-one 'in their right mind' would vote for them.

That still leaves enough for another Tory majority.

So he's saying basically "I wasn't dishonest, I was just brazenly having boozy parties, whilst ordinary people were unable to even visit their dying loved ones. Because I don't give a ****."
Sounds about right.

He's gaslighting the public with his comments, I don't think he realises the popular appeal he once had has become isolated pockets of resistance and further and further isolated from the mainstream of a Conservative Party reeling from the shockwaves of his destructive term as PM.

They will want to get him as far away as possible from ever returning to anything approaching high office, any blame, and I'm sure there's plenty will be focused on Johnson and positioning him as an outlier who abused his position, failed to uphold Conservative values and was the fountainhead of the culture of bullying self preservation that are the cornerstones of his political career.

I suppose he didn't cover up the parties, he damn well tried to though but.

I am constantly baffled by the way some people seem to "like" this charlatan. People who I think of as decent, intelligent people. Perhaps it is the same thing that seems to be able to get him between the sheets of many a woman's bed?

And yet, he is a proven liar, he is a serial cheat, barely competent at any of the roles he has managed to inveigle his way into and entirely self centred.

Yeah, but apart from that, what have the Romans ever done for us?
