Boris to step down as an MP

I’m not sure. But what I do know if the current lot don’t so sticking with them is just shooting yourself in the foot. You have to give someone else a chance.
Agreed, it’s a given anyway that there will be a change so we will get to see. I even think SKS has enough attributes to be a success. I just worry about the team he has behind him. Hopefully there’s some new talent in the junior ranks. There’s still time I guess.

This.

With the likes of Akehurst and Mandelson lurking in the shadows behind him as "advisors" pulling the strings, shaping policy (while purging the left, and critics of Starmer, anyone with socialist leanings etc) I'm very concerned that there will only be a colour change - red replacing blue.

I do feel the levels of self serving corruption will diminish rapidly, so that's good. But for long term improvement......

Will they be savvy enough to be able to win over the country dealing with a horrendous inherited financial position, public services on their knees and a rabid RW media storm attacking everything they do?

He knew fine well that he was lying to Parliament, he knew fine well he wasn't following the guidelines he laid down for others, the alternative is that if he genuinely didn't then his judgements are so flawed and decision making so poor that in itself should be enough to demonstrate an inability to represent others.
This has always been the crux of the matter.

The cultists will then say he was under tremendous stress, he was doing his best, he almost died etc.

You can't win. He didn't lie, but if he did he didn't mean to and in any case he should be let off because he's a national hero. 🤯🤪

A rather obvious point being hammered home.. again..but with absolutely no desire to play the whataboutery card, do FMTTM'ers really believe SKS and crew will give any more of a **** about our special little corner of the North East than the current shower? Just don't see it myself. I sadly think we are burdened with a plethora of poor and limited options right now.

Normally I'm against "voting for change" rather than a specific, identifiable way in which a new government will improve things

However, I've got to say that current government have set the bar as low as I can remember, so I do find it hard to believe SKS wouldn't do more for the area.
