Boris was warned not to have gathering as it was a party?

Perhaps Boris would be better off staying as PM. If Sunak takes over he would win the next election wouldn't he ?

It's hard to say. When you're giving out money as Chancellor all is good in the world; once you start taking it back and people start to feel the pinch, less so.

We're about to experience a significant cut in most people's disposable income due to NI and tax increases, along with energy prices. A lot of people who will be worst hit are in that group of people that he Tories need to keep onside.

Once people get it into their mind that we need a change then it is too late. Obviously there are plenty of Tory voters that would never vote anything else. It is the others that will be off. Tories must know they are going to have to cut their losses at some point. They'll need to decide whether delaying it so the next candidate is clear of covid and the scandals which gives them a clean slate when they start is worth the damage Johnson can cause in the meantime. However, they need the new candidate to have enough time to detach themselves from the previous administration when they take over which means they are running out of time. I'm assuming it'll be Spring 2024 the next election. Surely Johnson can't hang on for another year.

Thought you were clever when you lit the fuse
Tore down the house of commons in your brand new shoes
Compose a revolutionary symphony
Then went to bed with a charming young thing
Hello-hooray, cheers then mate, its Eating Trifles, Eating Trifles
Hello-hooray, an extremist scrape, with the Eating Trifles, Eating Trifles

His changing accounts over this are laughable.

First he said there were no parties, then he effectively sacks a Downing Street official for taking about the parties, then he's seen at a party, but claims it was a work gathering, then when he's caught again in undeniably damning circumstances, apologises but stats it was still 'technically' legal.

And now there's evidence emerging of him even being warned against allowing them to go ahead.

He's like a child who is continuously modifying his lie to keep ahead of the truth.

It's fair to say Boris will be Boris and try and lie his way out of the mess of his own creation. The easiest thing for Labour to do is sit back and watch him keep digging, however the longer he goes on, the bigger the ****-storm they'll potentially inherit. Ball is firmly with the Tories on this, however the problem is if they slap his wrists and let him carry on, he will see it as a victory and bumble on accordingly. If I was a Tory, I'd say get rid now!

But surely, if he gave his tacit approval for a party to go ahead that was in breach of the Covid-19 regulations that were in place at the time (after being warned) he's culpable of a crime?

People were contacted by the police, charged and fined. Ordinary working class people have the government taking these fines directly from their wages to this day, for lesser breaches than what our PM supposedly gave his direct endorsement to happening in his own house?

The problem the Tories have, is that with Boris, there will always be something else.

He doesn't believe any rules apply to him.

There will be another affair, more corruption, more cash for favours, more 'free' gifts.

Even when he leaves he'll still be at it, because there is never any real punishment for people like him, in the upper echelons of society.

He'll take on paid work before ACOBA give him the all clear and be putting himself forward for the after dinner speaking circuit the day he finishes.

'I should have told people to go back indoors', says PM

Continuing his conversation with broadcasters, Boris Johnson said: "If I had my time again, I would not have allowed things to develop in that way.
"Yes when I went out into that garden I should probably have told people – I should have looked around and said 'well we've got to go back indoors' or 'this isn't the right way to do things' and I apologise for that but I hope people will understand the circumstances we were operating in."
Asked again to confirm if he was warned against the gathering at any point, Mr Johnson said he only saw an email relating to the event after the matter.
"Nobody warned me that it was against the rules," he said.
And asked if he will resign if Sue Gray finds he misled parliament, he said: "We’ll have to see what she says."
He repeatedly refused to be drawn on whether or not, theoretically, a prime minister in that position should resign.

'I should have told people to go back indoors', says PM, After I got caught, obviously having a party.

Now I've been caught.

"Yes when I went out into that garden I should probably have told people – I should have looked around and said 'well we've got to go back indoors' or 'this isn't the right way to do things' But I did nothing, and I apologise for that but I hope people will understand the circumstances we were operating in." Lockdown regulations like the rest of the country?
Asked again to confirm if he was warned against the gathering at any point, Mr Johnson said he only saw an email relating to the event after the matter. a decent effort, didn't deny that he had an email, or that it warned against it.
"Nobody warned me that it was against the rules," he said. Nobody warned me not to break the law on the way to work today either, I managed. And it sort of refutes his point that he knew it was wrong when he went out into the garden and did nothing to correct t.
And asked if he will resign if Sue Gray finds he misled parliament, he said: "We’ll have to see what she says." Nudge nudge, wink wink honours list etc. etc.
He repeatedly refused to be drawn on whether or not, theoretically, a prime minister in that position should resign. My mam says my tea is ready I've got to go................

so is he saying that he shouldnt have allowed the 'muvva brown knees up' to be outside in the garden, and that they should have gone back inside to carry on with the 'shin-dig' in a more private setting? - it cant have been to go back to work, cos work had finished (we have repeatedly been told)

him and Mel Morris - 2 cheeks of the same @rse - they do what they want until they get caught and then hide.

I tried to see if I can post the video directly, but it isn't yet on their YouTube channel so you need to follow the link to Twitter

Brilliant use of Johnson's ridiculous statements and lies edited into an interview room with AC-12 (Fictional Line Of Duty Police Ant-Corruption Unit) sounds like the voices of Martin Compston and Adrian Dunbar.

Damming.
