you never took into account that after a loss we normally win several more before dropping points again. so the 2.26 is kind of a low ball average lol1) 19 games, 43 points, 2.26 points per game.
2) Over a 46 game season that would be 104 points.
3) Since the start of the season we would have had 79 points now, 2 above Burnley!

I reckon we would be on course for scoring 100+ goals as well!
The last time we scored over 70 goals was in the 1997-1998 promotion season, hitting 77. That should be reachable all being well.

11 games to go if boro are on 2.26ppg that means 24/25 points finishing on 84/85 points
Sheffield United need to drop to 1.5ppg to gain only 17 points in 11 games finishing on 84

Sheffield U should still have it in the bag, theirs to throw away. However it makes the run in exciting as long as there’s a chance.

I still think around 87 points needed with a better goal difference.
A big unknown is what happens to Sheff United in the Cup and how it affects them. They could easily be in a FAC Semi and all its distractions.
A total of 84 points might bring in someone like Blackburn too who are on a great run too.
