Boro Fans Forum Tonight

I couldn't fit the other fan groups on the agenda jpg and also AOB.
A lot of stuff to get through again.

Rob could you raise the bar service it’s appalling in the north stand. 30 minutes to get served on Saturday. There is a Heineken bar which would ease the problem just stood there collecting dust ?

If I get time. But I know that certain elements like the Heineken Bar could not open earlier in the season due to lack of staffing. I would imagine that could be still the case, especially with high covid numbers last match.
The is local and national problem football clubs and hospitality have struggled to regain numbers since reopening after covid.
Clubs across the country are also struggling to recruit enough stewards. As with other matchday staff people have taken up other jobs now.
Middlesbrough get many of their stewards from a north east agency dipped into also by Sunderland and Newcastle. A couple of times this season all three clubs have played at home on the same day making the problem even worse.

After seeing the Red Faction's banner on Saturday I was hoping a reduction to the absolutely astonishing ticket prices for the Man Utd FA Cup match would be high up on the agenda.

The agenda was finalised last week.
But I sent a message this morning to ask for a breakdown of how the incredible prices were arrived at - probably be important A.O.B.

Meeting just finished now.. started 6.30pm - so a long meeting.

Message for Humpty re Ugo Ehiogu memorial - can I hook you up with people that helped get the Ali Brownlee banner made that is visible behind the press box every game. Perhaps you can think about where and how Ugo could best be remembered. A sponsor came forward to pay for the Ali Brownlee banner. But I think everyone would love to see something happen. It needs some thought about what/where/when etc. Why don't I give you a contact and then you could maybe help push this along.

Crazy crazy inflated prices, but thats exactly what they charged us 7 years ago back in 2015. No adult ticket was less than £45. In fact some of those tickets went for £55.

Wow. I had forgotten. How much did Chelsea charge us that year. I remember Boro fans suggesting we should boycott. Was it not £50?
I think the FA need to look at away pricing in the same way as the Premier League with a price cap.
By the way I can confirm that Boro were given the same choice as Aston Villa. Somewhere around £30 for 3000+. £45/46 for 9000+.

Hi Rob,
Please do. Feel free to send me a direct message. Does anyone have any thoughts and feelings about where a Ugo mural or memorial might be best placed? I think it would be great in a public place outside the ground personally.

Can't really help on that but I think it's a great idea.

The pricing has to reflect the prices charged to home fans in the same part of the stadium, cant charge anymore or anyless, Hence the £30/£46 split when deciding for 3k/9k.

I have a few ideas for areas to get the ball rolling…
The blank wall under the bridge on the approach to the ground. Obviously we’d need the council’s permission and i think a burger can parks in front pre-match which wouldn’t be ideal.

This area of brickwork outside the south west corner. Very visible on approach to the ground. Obviously the seats and bins would have to be shifted.

Service on a matchday time and time again is appalling.

I know there are staffing issues due to Covid, but can the club not look at other ways to make the service faster that require the same amount of staff?

Use the one end of the concourse bars or the Heineken bar as a contactless point where you go up to it, tap, get handed a cold plastic bottle and once you've finished have recycling points for them around the concourse.

Those machines that can pour 4/6 pints at a time, they've been discussed previously that would speed things up.

I got into the North Stand concourse at 2:10pm and wasn't served until 2:40pm, it really isn't good enough and it's a consistent theme that puts me off going to the ground earlier or even attempting to get any food or drink at half time.

If you went for a banner inside the stadium similar to Alastair Brownlee then everyone would see it and could be far quicker to produce. You could even use it as an interim solution.

The initial idea was for something a bit more permanent and public. The Ali Brownlee banner gets a little bit lost in my view. It’s difficult to really properly see at the back of the west stand. Timescale isn’t a factor for me either. I just think it’s important to get it right. That’s my view but the fans own this idea not me. It was hugely popular suggestion on twitter. If the fans would prefer a banner in the ground then, that’s not a problem 🙂

Don't know who or how this is decided but if it takes time to decide so be it, Humpty is right, it has to be done right.

For me if we're doing something then I again agree with Humpty it should be something more permanent.

How about a plaque somewhere near the main entrance?

My initial idea was something like this in and around the ground…but again, I open it up to the fans. I’m open minded.
