Can this be a new title for those involved in industries that are doing worse due to the Brexit despite demanding it? Fishing, hauliage, farming all demanded Brexit as a way to improve their incomes. They wouldn’t listen to those REMOANERS who pointed out the obvious flaws in their logic and now they complain. This is the NEW REALITY and what YOU VOTED FOR. Sadly, you screwed everyone else as well as yourselves.

Yes, Brexit is very 2019. I'm genuinely just relieved that that (and Trump) are over now, so we can focus on the current crisis.

I don't get all this childishness tbh. We have seen over the last few weeks what this country is capable of when everyone comes together in a common cause. It's been a truly remarkable effort by all those involved and id proof of our ingenuity, agility and can do attitude. We've left the EU and it is time to move on as a country and make it work. All the petty squabbling does nothing but keep the divide

Your assuming they all voted leave, having said that it should be the rule when discussing brexit today that you disclose how you voted . REMAIN.

I am sorry but the idea of the country coming together, moving on as you say is ridiculous. Brexiteers have almost certainly made us ALL poorer, gave us less choice and damaged the economy in the long term. Then, as it slowly starts to sink in, that this is the case they demand unity and for us all to move on. No Chance!!!!

Osboro, sorry but the vast majority of people employed in those industries voted out. Now the whine and whinge that we haven’t reached those Sunny Uplands they were certain we would reach.

"Almost certainly." Bit of guess work then. Literally no evidence of this at all

Bit rich that last comment coming from you bearing in mind some of the “goading” one liners on the first of two tech threads.

Sorry your right, I shouldn’t have given an exceptionalism. It should have read certainly!!! In terms of evidence there’s lot of it coming through on a daily basis. Otherwise, why would the fishing industry be demonstrating today, or farmers and hauliers complaining in so many news items?

I've been guilty of it myself I'm big enough to admit it. It does get very difficult to keep your cool though when people are constantly trying to prove you are wrong when you truly believe in the decision u made.

Have you not heard of the OBR? It was established as one of the Coalition Government’s first acts and was designed to give UK budget forecasts external credibility after years when Chancellors tended to be overoptimistic. It is forecasting a reduction of up to 4% in GDP as a consequence of Brexit alone i.e. we will all be poorer.

We may well be in the short term but it was never a decision based on the short term It was a decision for the long term. The results of which we'll see further down the line

Words don’t often fail me, but yours are as divisive as Donald Trumps. You are entitled to free speech, but i hoped that when using it people would be sensible and fair minded. Your post is intended to acheive nothing but an argument, but then you know that.

I have no doubt your very very close in your description, I was just trying to be diplomatic.

Its actually going to be virtually impossible to prove that Brexit is to blame for our economic woes once Covid is over. Even though I didn't vote for it and don't agree with it in any way.
