Best not to think about it and concentrate on maintaining form and securing the playoff place. Do that and good things might come to pass. I'm sure Carrick won't be heaping pressure on them by targeting 2nd.
We can only run our race..It's obviously very unlikely but IF we win at their place and can close the gap to something like 6 or 7 points fairly quickly, then pressure might just start to tell.
As said above, it's sometimes easier to chase than be chased. We have nothing to lose on that front. Whereas on some level it's probably fair to say a few of their players are pretty much already planning what to spend their promotion bonus on.
They're not expecting a battle for automatic, so if you can draw them into one it's going to be a hell of a mindset change for them. Suddenly every game becomes a bit more of a nervy affair for them.
Ah, but he did leave the side in a good place for Carrick though...If we beat them to 2nd place, I know this is childish, but man would I love to see Wilder's face after that nonsense Sky Sports interview where he didn't even predict us to finish top 6.
You're funny.Ah, but he did leave the side in a good place for Carrick though...
They are averaging 2 points per game at the moment but that's not to say it continues, that form could dip with the right pressure from us.If they lose it doesn’t mean that we win. They are averaging 2 points per game and are set for a 92 point finish.. if we win all our remaining games we finish on 96 points
That would be done turn around! Record breaking, film worthy!!
It’s a mammoth task! They are averaging 2 points per game at the moment but that's not to say it continues, that form could dip with the right pressure from us.
Which interview? Have you got a link? Not being funny, would just be interested to watch it.If we beat them to 2nd place, I know this is childish, but man would I love to see Wilder's face after that nonsense Sky Sports interview where he didn't even predict us to finish top 6.
It was during punditry for live game, Gazette did a peice on it..Which interview? Have you got a link? Not being funny, would just be interested to watch it.
Where were we in the league at that time? The teams he predicted to make the top six were probably the top six or seven at the time. Maybe not Coventry but they’re sort of perpetual dark horses under Robins. Ask any pundit now and they’d be saying Boro.It was during punditry for live game, Gazette did a peice on it..
Chris Wilder gives Boro play-off verdict as Championship promotion race hots up
Former Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder was asked to give his thoughts on the play-offswww.gazettelive.co.uk
Yeah im not arguing, you just asked where he said it so I provided a link. Still, it was only a couple of months after he was sacked, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a little salty and it influenced his choices.Where were we in the league at that time? Who would’ve been predicting Huddersfield or Blackpool to go down in October?
I think Coventry may come again TBH. They have a top quality striker and if they get it right they could quite easily string 3 or 4 wins together. Much like us with Chuba I suppose.Yeah im not arguing, you just asked where he said it so I provided a link. Coventry did seem to be flying at the time tbf and had games in hand. Look to be falling away a bit now though.
Wilder's words, not mine.You're funny.
