Er, his record?

He's had success at a number of different clubs right through the leagues to the PL

His problem isn't an inability to put a successful team on the pitch, it's more a failure to manage relationships with his employers and his players.

It’s far more than that. He found success with a system that no longer works. He has a complete inability to do anything else even when it’s clear his system no longer works.

a failure to manage relationships with his employers and his players.

That’s a part of management too. If he can’t do those key things, he’s certainly not a great manager.

I don't buy the 'his system has been found out' theory at all.

In essence it's been around for decades and like all systems there are pros and cons and tactical tweaks to adapt to different needs - the suggestion that a wing back system 'had been found it' its overly simplistic and misplaced.

As I said he's a great manager bar one important flaw; his seeming inability to build and sustain relationships. Whether this is a more recent issue for him, or whether it's always been part of his makeup I don't know, but both his Sheff Utd and Boro tenures ended in very similar circumstances.

He has had success and done very well, but his failures are also on the pitch, he has zero ability to change when his tactics aren’t working in a game. He has no plan B and it seems teams have very much sussed out how to combat the way he likes to play, rather than adapt he digs his heels in and that’s when the relationships break down as he blames everyone else.

It’s the marauding centre backs part that has been found out not the formation itself. When his centre backs move up the pitch it leaves a gap in the full back area which can he exploited with a diagonal ball, then allowing the attacking player to come in to the box and shoot or square the ball. It happened repeatedly the season he was sacked at sheff utd and it happened with us towards the end of last season and early this season. He needed to mix it up but kept refusing and saying it was nothing to do with the system when it was blatantly obvious a huge part of the problem.
