You could well see Paul Cook's logic. On top of all the lack of permanence for him - his whole time at the club would be surrounded by speculation and how could he possibly plan in anyway going forward. And what authority would he have with players on longer contracts than the manager.

Yes, quite insulting if true.
I can see why Cook is in demand.
Personally his unfortunate affliction of ending every statement with 'without a shadow of doubt' would do my head in.
Mind you, I would happily live with it if he took us to the giddy heights of the PL
