Could India bring down Boris

If the cases were to rise and restrictions reintroduced would that be the end for Boris. He has rode on the crest of a wave in popularity due to the vaccinations and people's belief he is a bumbling fool that always tries to do the right thing but is just badly advised most of the time.

But if restrictions were to come back in or the country misses the 21st June reopening day I believe the public might finally say enough is enough, as even the most staunch tories and Boris followers could see we were far too slow in putting India on the red list and stopping flights from coming in.

In my opinion I don't think that restrictions will be reimposed and believe in my simplistic world of follong the data and trends we are still on course to open up on the 21st June and this is scaremongering to a degree.

No, I think his popularity is too big to wane so suddenly over things that he can (and will) blame on dirty northerners etc. The big threat to his tenure comes from Cummings, quite possible that he has a smoking gun.

I suspect the ERG will eventually bring down Johnson not the electorate. One of 2 things. Either when marching season starts in NI, what will he have done about the NI protocol. I think now it doesn't matter what he does, someone will be annoyed. Or, if he has to re-introduce restrictions, the ERG will turn on him.

I think it's a myth that most people are dumb enough to think he is doing a good job.

Hasn't this variant been in this country since the middle of April?
Has it taken over in China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal or Bangladesh as the dominant variant yet?

As soon as the pandemic is done with Johnson is toast.

No doubt in my mind he has a "smoking gun" - it's just a case of when he chooses to fire it.
Cummings may have a smoking gun he may just be bullsh1tting but as he is the most hated political figire in modern times I suspect the general voting population will not wish to hear what he says.
