Coventry are $hit

It’s threads like this that can easily bite you in the **** . It’s extra motivation for the opposition too. Imagine the Coventry team (obviously they won’t because it’s a fans forum) reading this , perfect motivation to go out there and prove you wrong .

It’s half time in the leg. They finished one place behind us and we haven’t beaten them all season . They’re evidently not **** . We will have to be at our best on Wednesday to get past them

You have to be happy with not just the result, but the performance too.

We clearly intended to keep the ball and dampen the atmosphere, which we did supervly, especially in the first half when it mattered most.

They are already posting a link to this thread on the Coventry forum. Its the type of thing that makes back to opposition dressing rooms, that and the constant posts about Wembley make our fans look like deluded, arrogant Mackems.
The other thing to remember is that they play counter attacking football and are happy not to have to ball.

A little bit like Luton they can score a goal from very little if you switch off, so lets not get carried away, albeit they are a much more attractive side than them.

It's a long long way from being over yet and still very much in the balance.

As Uwefuchs has mentioned this thread has already reached the attention of Coventrys fan forums. This sort of thing can have a nasty habit of biting you on the backside. Lets make sure we do our job and pay the opposition the respect they deserve.

I think we've been the better team in both games and could have easily won today, however, we haven't beaten them. They're defensively sound and hamer and gyokeres are two of the better players in this division. There's not much $hit about them or at least not what I can see.

Thought they played well tbh. They are a good team despite the way you see it.
Credit to robins, they are incredibly well organised with little else but have Gykores and if paddy can replicate today on Wednesday then I’d see 3-0.
Our management team really benefited from watching Gykores at full tilt last week and I’m sure woodgate and paddy worked out how to approach playing him….I bet woodgate gave paddy loads of tips about the type of player Gykores is and how to nullify him.
Great work

They have 2 players and the rest of the them are just journeymen who robins has organised and developed a good team spirit

It was just after the final whistle and I was clearly full of emotion so perhaps an emotional thread. I standby the fact that Coventry are a team we ought to be beating as we are better but it’s a dangerous 2nd leg still and we really need to massively turn up

Coventry aren’t marvellous but like all the play off teams including ourselves they are well organised and have one or two players who can hurt you.

But let’s be honest we have a big advantage playing the second leg at the Riverside and we need to make that count.

Whether its down to being them being well organised or sxceptional footballers the result is the same. They're definitely not $hit regardless of how they have achieved those performances

They are good defensively with one of the best strikers in the league.

Decent press up front and well organised.

We are pretty evenly matched, but I think we are the better team when we are both at our best.
This is my point. If we're at our best (even if they are too) we win, as were the better team. Only thing which beats us is ourselves on Wednesday if we don't play as well as we can/should.

I’d absolutely agree that they are organised and Gyokeres is an obvious threat. The best thing about today was that McNair proved he can stop the threat of gyokeres. He may need to do it for another 2 hours on Wednesday but that is the best Paddy has played against Gyokeres.

We edged today and a 2-0 win wouldn’t really have flattered us. But they’re tough, resilient compact, we might need a mistake from them, we might need a deflection, we certainly have to shoot more often, I’d like to think that our possession football if it goes to extra time might tell and take their legs from them.

Think this tie will be decided by a one goal victory, or even pens. Chuffed we’ve got more on the bench now, I think we’ve got better options than they have and that might tell in the end.

Not sure Forss will start Wednesday, looked rusty, think we might get 40 mins max out of him so we wouldn’t bring him on until 80mins so we can use him in extra time.

We’d want archer, Akpom, Forss all on the pitch if it goes to pens

These type of posts are pathetic. Coventry aren’t ****, they were in league two about 6 years ago and are now two games from the premier league despite a tiny budget compared to most at this level

They definitely have the quality to beat us on Wednesday if we aren’t at 100%
