I mean that’s not bad going for a £1m investment last season. Their fans are confident that the money will be used to bring in better players in the long run.

Max Bird and Louie Sibley will be picked up cheap as chips from Derby County.

Strikers Harry McKirdy from Swindon, Luke Plange on loan from Crystal Palace and even a cheeky enquiry about our own Duncan Watmore!

Sounds like Burnley are leading the chase for O’Hare and possibly our own interest for Hannibal Mejbr takes us out of the running..

But that number 11 spot in the squad.. Matthew Hoppe is done and dusted? or is he off somewhere else? Antoine Semenyo would be interesting with a year left on his contract..

Irons in the fire, last minute surprises.. no way is Gyokores worth £10m anything over £7m imo and they should snap our hands off.

I'd like us to have a look at Derby, there's a couple there (Sibley and Knight) who i think could do a job here.

Jephcott from Plymouth is the one i'd like us to look at, when i see us linked with randoms from abroad, i think there's players here who can score goals and these strikers dont just stop scoring, the finishing ability is there and with better players around them, i like to think if they have that instinct, the rest follows. Bigger risk than say Olusanya, but far greater chance of reward

O'Hare been injured, apparently for a month, means that might not happen until January so if Coventry need to balance books, or do some business, they may need to sell Gyokeres? Who knows.

5 still to come for us i think. Drip fed, one a week... Slow process, but i trust it.

Its not happening - we probably have no more than half of the Spence and Tav money to spend, and that’s to bring in another five players. Coventry would laugh in our face if we offered £7m for their star man

Coventry rejected multiple bids from Burnley for O'Hare, and weren't willing to let him go for under £10m.

I know you like your fantasy figures, but that's not even a believable one.

Gyokeres alone with be more than that, surely.
£1m to £15m based on one season is one hell of a jump!

Yeah, I think we should be looking at the sorts of players Coventry would be looking at.. go wholesale. These high end retail buys tend to go out of fashion pretty quick.

Sounds like they already have done! Greaves, Hannibal, Muniz would be nice for the QPR game..
Gyökeres be about 15 million ohara is about 10 million your looking at 25 - 30 million for the pair
Shocking isn't it! Fools gold!

I mentioned Luke Jephcott in another thread. 12 goals last season and 18 the season before? Throw £1m at Plymouth and they'd take it.

Paddy Lane from Fleetwood was another one. Young player of the year in league 1 last season... We'd probably get him for 500k, there's hardly any risk.

I like my fantasy figures? Like us throwing £15m-£20m at Gyokeres? It's just madness imo

Other clubs are doing it too...
Bournemouth just signed James Hill from Fleetwood for £1m
Huddersfield just signed Jack Rudoni from Wimbledon for 800k
Bristol City just signed Kane Wilson from Forest Green for 225k...

I'd love us to fill our squad with a few of these, loan them back out to league one if we have to, but build a team for the future....

We sent a scout out to France last season to watch Lea Siliki, and then paid a stupid loan fee to bring him in...

We could be scouting Wimbledon to watch Ayoub Assal, sign him permanently for the same price of the loan fee, 20 year old, can play almost anywhere on the pitch, low wages... He'd see it as his one big chance, try really hard, and if he isn't good enough just loan him back to Wimbledon for more match experience...

Watching Watford last night and looked-up that they picked up Dennis for £3.5m from Bruges.
Bargain.
Just shows you there are some gems out there.
Get the feeling that the Pozzo family probably know what they are doing given their history in the sport.

Mind you they were still daft enough to give Ashley 'there's a player in there somewhere' Fletcher a contract.
Not silly enough to spend £7million on him though:poop:

Unless he's on less than 27k per week and didn't get a signing on bonus, then they actually were silly enough to spend £7m+ on him.

Fletcher on 5 Year deal £3.25m? based on £13k a week 26 year old english premier league striker.. didn't we pay £2m to loan Jordan Hugil for a season
my guess is they'll make a tidy profit on Ashley Fletcher

Watford look class btw.
