Coventry far from a forgone conclusion

I'd love the see us fly out of the blocks and overwhelm Coventry. The atmosphere is going to play a massive part and should help to fire the boys up. I think it's important if we were to go a goal down to keep supporting the lads. They've proved time and time again this season that they can deal with setbacks and turn it around. Sheff Utd away was a perfect example. It's going to be a tough game though, no doubt about it.

Coventry are tough to beat.. only 12 losses this season. Burnley with 3, Sheffield with 11 and Luton with 8

Similar record to Sunderland only with a much stingier defence. Very much worthy of their place in the playoffs and so very far from a push over.

They are a well drilled side and do what they do very well. I think they will play very similar to how they played in the first leg for the first half or so. If they can silence our crowd or get us feeling a bit nervy (like we did to them in the first leg) it could be a long night.

I have everything crossed that Howson is fit and starts. I think he gives us that confidence in our little one-twos around their box to unlock the defence.

A few nerves creeping in now. Can’t imagine what 8.00 tomorrow will feel like. Cmon boro!!

Double edged sword for me. Always want Boro to win but don’t agree with play offs as promotion and relegation should be determined on the results over a whole season, therefore in normal circumstances I would want the club that finished third to go up. Also I don’t like the Premier League.

I hate the "who do you want in the final?" guff. It is seriously disrespectful to a team in better form (statistically) than us. It is arrogant and it is tempting fate.
Exactly. These are also the people who spit the dummy right out if things don't go according to plan.

If we don't win tomorrow night and get knocked out, I actually won't be too upset. I love the championship and love playing and dominating in it.
However, if Sunderland get to the final, we MUST get there ourselves to stop them going up.

Apparently Hamer is out for them( from their forum). If true will be a help
Just seen that.

Some fans are adamant it was a deliberate foul on our behalf to injure their best players… he did it to himself with the follow through.

One idiot who admits he hasn’t seen the incident, thinks we are cheating barstewards anyways.

You could make a strong argument that Gyokeres is the best player in the division, so certainly not to be taken lightly.

However, i would say, if we cant beat Coventry at home, in a 2nd leg after drawing the away leg 0-0, and then beat Luton or Sunderland in the final, we don't deserve prem footy.
Not one team in there having parachute payments. It's not arrogance, Sunderland, Cov and Luton fans will be saying the same thing, but we will never have a better chance in the play offs.

I am old enough to remember times before the play offs and the season was over for most clubs in February or early March. The chase for the play offs and the play offs themselves is the best thing to happen in football.
