Cyclings Spring Classics

Today sees the start of the spring classics which kick off with the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.
If you're a dedicated watcher then I can recommend paying £20 for GCN+ which, depending on where you are in the world, gives you ad-free, uninterrupted coverage of a shedload of races and on demand access to replays and highlights. It's on offer for £20 only until the end of February so you'll need to rush to get it for half price. I've got the app on my Nvidia Shield, phone and tablet and it works great.
In addition to the live racing, you also get access to a load of documentaries, including a great one presented by Chris Boardman regarding cycling in Yorkshire. It features an interview with the Boro's own Sid Barras.

(y).... just been out on the bike last couple of days for the first time in ages .... hoping that this year's racing is as good as last - I really enjoyed the Tour without so many "fans"

Set up and account and just subscribed. I can access it on my laptop and phone. I’ve downloaded the GCN+ app on my fire stick but when trying to sign in its showing me a link and giving me a code to input but can’t find anywhere to input the code on the link? What am I doing wrong?? Help???

Is there a qr code on screen? Scan it with your phone and you can enter the code so it'll link with your account.

Nope. Just a link which is gcn.eu/connect and a 6 digit code to enter when you follow the link. I’m watching some racing ad free on laptop at the minute but want to get it on my tv. It’s frustrating

Are you on an Android or iOS phone?
If you are on Android then use Chrome to goto http://GCN.eu/connect and it should open the GCN app on your phone where you can enter the code which will authorise the app on your TV.

I'm watching Omloop Het Nieuwsblad at the moment, but in belgian on a dodgy stream. Keeping an eye on Pidcock mainly to see how he copes, but several other brits in the field. 60kms to race.

Quick question dood. I've always assumed the GCN app was only for mobile phones (I don't have one), can it download to a computer?

Yes you can. I’m watching it now through GCN on laptop ad free as I’ve subscribed to the race pass.

Cheers, just seen Tom near the front looking OK.

Made it across to the break, no mean feat. This group is strong enough to stay away if they don't mess about.

Just an update. Finally got it sorted on my tv by accessing the link provided through safari instead of google. Don’t ask me?? 🤷‍♀️Thanks for the help and the heads up about the offer Dooderooni. Just watching the documentary with Chris Boardman on Cycling Heartlands... Yorkshire. Very good it is too. 👍

DQS continue to be the dominant one day race team. Great start again.

incidentally the Spring Classics Velogames starts next weekend so will be putting that up for entry sometime this week.

Brilliant (y)
I'm sure I saw Lotte Kopecki descending on her top tube at one point in the women's race. Naughty.

Pidders on the third step today after a strong ride yesterday.
There has certainly been some choice language from the riders as they cross the line and celebrate this weekend

Really good turn of speed he showed and as Adam Blythe said, the fact he was in the wind for the sprint cost him a bit.
The one thing I like about Pidcock, aside from his obvious talent and bike handling skills, is that he strikes me as being very canny as well. I'm sure he'll have learned a lot from today and he'll be calm enough to apply it in future races. It's the thing that has always made Sagan my favourite and a skill that he ably demonstrated in his WC rides when he didn't show his face until the very, very sharp end of the races.

Just woken to this result in the Kuurne. Well done Pidcock.

Also followed Pederson since meeting him briefly in Harrogate after he won the Worlds 2 years ago. Nice to see him win.
