Danny Batth

He will do well there, surprised he’s gone when ever I’ve seen Stoke highlights this season he’s been playing.

I am surprised he has dropped down a league. He's a sound Championship defender. Maybe @ 31 he has passed his peak, but not ancient.

I was hoping Batth would be a success at the Boro and attract more Asian (Indian) supporters to the Riverside.

Its rather disproportionate the number of professional players of Indian subcontinent origin in the UK.

I think he was a success.. Stoke bought him off Wolves for £3m+ when he was on loan to us. Quality player and a great signing for Sunderland
Batth is a decent solid ch
Imho he is better than hall who is neither hard or a football ch
Just injury prone and soft when defending corners etc.

A great signing at that level. Although think he's a bit prone to niggly injuries (like Roberts).

Two decent signings. The must be close to FFP as they must have some wage bill for league 1. Especially with Defoe linked.

As already said, a very good signing at league 1. Cracking leader for a team hoping to go up, and is still decent in the championship. Surprised he needed to drop to Sunderland’s level.

Great signing for Sunderland but a loss for Stoke...

They're 8th in the league and he's been the centre of a back 3 every game (except last weekend) for the past 8 - 10 games...

Replacing him with a 39 year old Jagielka and then sending him out on loan is weird.

sadly it's a really sensible signing for League One, experience, leadership, big enough to handle League One carthorses and not over the hill.
