David McGoldrick on a free?

He was key to a side that almost finished 7th in the prem.

If we were only judging players on how they played v the boro then that aguerro was crap.
They finished 9th.
I wasn't only judging him on performances against us though, was I?
I also clearly said if he is a bench option and cheap and Wilder wants him then fine.
Surely its still alright to be able to disagree about whether we are delighted to sign someone, or not?

If you look at the impact of the likes of our "Ginger Ninja" who more often than not was an impact sub - at 34 McGoldrick could play a similar role?
That said - experience and skill in this league counts for a lot more than mere physicality.
Just look at what Wilder`s Management Team have achieved with Jonny Howson: last season he was on fire, but under Wornhock he looked like he was heading out to pasture.
We now have a left-winger to balance Izzy on the right.
We appear to be moulding a midfield and the reported prospects for a couple of defenders is looking bright.
Its obvious to all of us that a 20-goals per season striker is what we need, but we also need goals from elsewhere.
McGree has the opportunity to stamp his mark on the team and Tav is beginning to find his scoring boots.
Last season we had the two poor loanees, along with erratic Sporar, but we still managed to finish 7th.
Noticeably, Crooks absence also coincided with goals drying up.
Going to be interesting this week.
We also need to offload "big ouchie", Akpom, Coulson, Hall and Daniels.
