It’s up to him I suppose, not everyone is the same. As far as I could tell he is a decent and popular poster and will definitely be a miss so maybe letting people know that will stop anyone worrying of his whereabouts if he just stopped posting.

Me personally, not really but I reckon some will. Not sure why people are getting so wound up by nosmo saying he’s taking a break.
 
I think where Normans coming from there's been a few posters who have started a thread asking, for example, FAOJohn Smith, who maybe hasnt posted for a nunber of weeks, not saying that person is duly worried regarding not seeing that said poster, maybe more out of curiosity, hoping that person is ok

Cant see the problem with it TBH

Fair comment. Trouble is now if something does happen to Nosmo in the next few months we won’t be troubled because well….we assume he’s no longer part of the community. In any case he will be back. I’ve seen his name pop up on the members list watching threads so he’s still looming.

That’s it in a nutshell. You have an option to ignore, you have the option to take a break if you want, but telling people you’re going to stay away because you don’t like what they’ve said smacks to me of you’re either after an apology, or you’re after people begging you to stay.

Either of which is pretty pointless.
 
Thing is you don't know the state of nind of this particular poster. He could have any number of issues that we will never be privy to. As such I always feel it best not to respond with any assumptions as to why he has reacted the way he has to posts on this MB.

You’re right. Agree with that.

There’s one particular poster on this board who talks about his mental health, then uses it as an excuse for being a d*ck to people.

Maybe that’s diluted my sympathy a little.
 
Come on Nosmo it's been over 48 hours now, I think that's long enough for you to be away, it's getting ridiculous now...

Nobby's Notebook will be back Tuesday, and there will be no doubt be some spelling mistakes for you to correct 👍📖✍️
