Derby fans singing about Having a party when Steve Gibson dies

The only violent one I can think that's been sang in recent years is "Build a Bonfire", which I'd be fine phasing out too.
agree, not exactly personalised to an individual though unlike the Derby ones to Gibson, can't say I've heard that for a good few years either though

Poking fun is fine, but we need to regulate ourselves as to what is acceptable and whats not.
There`s lots of evidence on here we can do that.
That may sound woolly, but just banning doesnt make people think.
The louts and drunks would try and fight a tank ...

Hang about, are they threatening his life in the songs?
Not at all, they sang they will have a party when he does which is awful but not unusual for football fans. They're idiots but not much difference to plenty of others. Leeds had a truly awful song about Munich if I remember right

The Holgate used to sing the Munich song, also a song about Asa Harford having a hole in his heart and possibly Barmby's wife.

I shudder to think that I joined in

A questionable legal action by the he chairman of a rival club which threatens to destroy the institution that more than any other gives you meaning and identity is analogous to the exterior destruction of culture and community under Thatcher. It's felt the same way; it's an attack.

Financial fair play is a nonsense. How are Man City or PSG playing fair financially? How are Newcastle? It sits ill that we are whining about something like this. We weren't good enough on the pitch. That's all that really counts and every football fan knows it. Gibson should cease and desist. He is like the Tories he now cleaves to: gaming the system when it suits him, trying to change the rules when it doesn't.

It is a grim look

shame the old site is down cos there were a few from posts after thatcher had died, celebrating her death
I'm not sure Gibson has done his best to destroy the work prospects of millions of people, politics is far more intrusive in everyones lives.

This is also a nothing to do with this thread, about singing about the chairman of a sports club.

a) questionable is subjective. From another perspective it's questionable that Derby should be allowed to cause material harm to other clubs without paying compensation
b) the root cause of the threat to destroy Derby is Derby's failure to comply with ffp, spending money they didn't have, trying to cover up the ffp breaches, taking out loans to cover operating losses, selling the clubs only major brick and mortar asset, failing to pay a whole host of creditors including a massive HMRC debt, avoiding for over a year attending arbitration over harm to other clubs, then unilaterally pressing the nuclear button of administration.
c) Your analogy of Gibson as Thatcher is wrong, if thatcher was born, raised and lived in a northeast mining community, then it would be a serious analogy as she would have destroyed her own community and culture. She would be Mel Morris
d) Yes, Gibson has gone on the attack, against those that cheat, the unscrupulous owners that fail to heed the warning that 3 years ago that he won't allow his club to be pushed around by failing insidious chairmen from other clubs.
Financial fair play is a nonsense.
If Derby had followed ffp instead of cheating it and treating it as irrelevant to their business strategy, they would own their ground, not be in admin, and not have built up the vast majority of their substantial debt.....maybe the problem isn't ffp, but those that try to cheat it.

How are Man City or PSG playing fair financially?
Neither of those clubs work under EFL FFP, you need to ask UEFA about their FFP system which is irrelevant to Derby county's situation.

? It sits ill that we are whining about something like this. We weren't good enough on the pitch.
Good enough is relative to your competitiors....if your competitor cheats, with access to players they can't afford, they artificially and illegally (according to EFL rules) raise the bar to success. We were good enough in that we finished in the top 6 of clubs that didn't cheat.

Gibson should cease and desist.
Gibson should persist and enforce and gain compensation for losses.

He is like the Tories he now cleaves to: gaming the system when it suits him, trying to change the rules when it doesn't.
He hasn't changed a single rule....simply ensured the rules are enforced, including the moral obligation of a member of the footballing family to do no harm to another club, his club, robbed of income and opportunity by a crooked chairmen, Mel Morris.

Thanks for coming and outing yourself Mr Ram, hope you survive but that it's many many years of lower league football until you right yourselves.
