Derby to finally get their comeuppance?

I am miles more bothered about what they are going to do about Stoke's losses and how they manufactured the biggest loss imaginable for the last season by writing off all the outstanding book value of players way before the end of their contracts and by taking write down on book value of loads of players, to move them on.
They have flouted amortisation rules and convention, opportunistically using Covid as a smokescreen.
Their losses are far bigger than Derby.
I really hope Gibson launches a complaint.
This matters far more to us than Derby.

I remember you posting about this a few months back in a good level of detail explaining what had gone on. Has there been any press about this situation at Stoke since then at all do you know?

As you explained the situation, it just looked like they were massively taking the pish to bury their losses. Given their heavy spending that's a hell of a hole that needed digging to bury that lot.

If this is an even worse hatchet job than Derby then surely Gibson will be making a complaint? I don't believe he just did it with Derby because they pipped us to the play offs that season.

demotion would be a just punishment but seen this season has started with them then the points deduction should be enough to make relegation highly likely.... or you defer punishment till the end of the season then drop them a division (cruel)

It’s like the sheff wed scenario a slow painful affair! I can see Rooney jumping ship any time now.

What I don’t understand is why it seems to be such a collaborative approach between the efl and Derby to AGREE their own punishment. Surely the efl just apppy the punishment they see fit based upon their rules and the breach in question. Seems very strange it’s almost like a negotiation.

9 points isn’t enough. Demotion to league 2 should be the punishment for any team cooking the books whether it’s Derby, Stoke, Sheff Wed, Boro, Man City or whoever. If you don’t have integrity then you have nothing. (That goes for life too).
Well said El Guapo. There's a bloke lives in our road whose business went under owing £150k. He then declared himself personally bankrupt but still managed to find loads of cash down the back of his sofa to build a huge extension on his house. I suspect the house is in his wife's name and this was planned all along.

Boils my **** 😡

If the EFL unilaterally imposed a punishment Derby would no doubt take it to appeal and drag the whole thing out even further, and it also risks Derby getting less punishment than the EFL wants.

No Press that I have seen which is remarkable. It needs somebody to pick it up and really go for them.
Stoke have lost miles over £100m since relegation alone. The £80m plus they declared last season alone would breach FFP many time over for three years.
Stoke are blatant cheats - the worst Championship I have seen.
The EFL won't go for them because of the Covid factor, but this has been a calculated move by the multi-billionaire owners the Bet 365 Coates family.
I really hope Gibson picks this up.

(Why the laughing roofie?)

Not just beaten, they where rank bad. Don’t recall them having a shot on target…shame 😁
They were riding a wave by thinking the world was against them, but with the squad size, age of their defence, and lack of attacking quality, the OK form they had shown was quickly going to disappear. Looking at their fixtures, I think they'll lose the next 3 and the confidence will go
