The agent of Pablo Maia has said that it ‘won’t be bad’ for his client to stay at his current club until the end of the season, despite links with a move to the Premier League in January.

Nottingham Forest are one of a few Premier League teams to be credited with an interest in the 20-year-old ahead of the winter window. Reports claim that the Reds are ready to beat off competition from the likes of Fulham for the player.

Maia has come through the youth team at Sao Paulo, and has caught the eye with his performances in Brazil’s top division. And the player’s agent Junior Pedroso has revealed that there has been interest in his client, although neither are in a rush to move away from Brazil in January.

Spence's status

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte could make a final decision on the short-term future of Nottingham Forest promotion hero Djed Spence after working with him over the World Cup break.

The wing-back was a key player in the Reds’ charge towards the Premier League last season when he was on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough. Forest were keen to make the deal permanent in the summer, as they prepared for the Premier League, but the player instead completed a move to Tottenham.

The 22-year-old signed a five-year deal with the North London club, but has found game time hard to come by this season. Spence has played a total of just three minutes over three appearances in the Premier League.

It has led to reports that Spurs will be willing to loan the player out when the January window opens. Although if Forest will revive their interest is still to be seen, given the summer signings of Neco Williams and Serge Aurier.

Its a bit like the "development" players by our previous manager - an excuse not to play them. Not sure, but it has been suggested spurs wanted Spence, not Conteh?
