DJed Spence - what an assist

His attitude has been questioned by 3 different managers, imagine been told you're coming back after enjoying a good spell at Forest, only then to be told you'll be used as & when Jones is unavailable, that will go down well with Spence, he'll certainly be up for that

For me he's made more big mistakes in games, given sloppy passses away leading up to conceding a goal than assists for us, I wasnt too fussed NW loaned him out, or that CW didnt bring him back, he's doing well at Forest & good luck to the lad but glad we didnt bring him back to cause any friction within the squad

The skills Djed tonight were immense. That assist superb and your love of our club. Speaks volumes. Our club love you too. 👏👏👏🎈 https://t.co/TAUutIVXcM

You’re quite good at football

I've never been more impressed with a player that really does have an affinity with Forest even tho you're only on loan. You're a ROLLS ROYCE of a footballer.
This squad could be on match of the day next season 🙏

Personally I wouldn’t bring him back. Thought Warnock was harsh on him effectively playing him in an attacking role. When Warnock first played him he played right back and was better overlapping players. He hasn’t gone the skill level to be a winger like Jones has.

if we’re playing 4 at the back I’d have him back

Not according to anything I've seen. In the Gazette article linked to above he gave a number of reasons but that wasn't one of them.
It was something CW said when were hit with Covid and talking on TV about maybe having to consider recalling loan players. He said that he's never had a week in football like it when looking at who is going to play etc .And in that context he said something along the lines of he didn't think that was right to the player or the club who he is playing for.

Not sure Spence could play the role that Jones is playing for us. At Forest Spence has Johnson ahead of him most of the time and is feeding the ball through to Johnson. For us Jones is the 'point of the spear' being fed in in advanced positions by Crooks and sometimes Dijksteel then delivering good balls into the box.

I watched that game v Arsenal the other day and he showed plenty of defending skills.

I would hope that everybody would agree that a player can improve and develop with the right coaching, and when a player enjoys his time doing his job. it is very clear to me Spence is an exceptional player with a big future. Whether or not that improvement in performance is down to a new manager and environment , it was clear that he didnt enjoy his time with us under Woodgate or Warnock or just perhaps he couldn't settle in the North East.

I am convinced now he is being sold to fund other olayers but if there was an opportunity to get him back then should we have him? - too bloody right we should. However sadly I think his ship has sailed away from us. We are fortunate to have another classy RWB in Jones who is our talisman at the moment.

Wish Spence well.
He played under Woodgate the times I saw him. I thought it was just with Warnock it all went pear shaped for him here.

Not sure why we are comparing him to Issiah tbh - Diksteel is the one he would replace as he is a right back (and is very uncomfortable on the ball sometimes)- we can change to a back four and will do throughout the season.
